I looked it up and I guess the rules changed.. It used to be that a player must be on the 25 man roster before Sept 1 in order to be post-season eligible (injuries not withstanding). Of course there were ways around that as teams often claimed injuries in order to get a certain player on the roster.

It hasn’t been that way for as long as any of us have been fans (since 1910). The only thing that has changed recently was in 2014...prior to then they had to be on the 40 man roster. Even that old rule wouldn’t have kept Tucker off the postseason roster though because he’s on the 40 man roster already.

Pretty self explanatory. 25 man roster by August 31st or on DL/Bereavement list. Otherwise, it's injury replacements only (and those can be anyone in the organization.

    Yes...

The “automatic eligibility” was extended to the 40 man roster in 2014...which Tucker would still be on.

Yes, like I said in the above post, it was obviously changed recently (not in 1910) and I didn't know. We haven't been to the post season since then, so it's been a bit of a nonfactor for me. But in 2013, the rules were how I explained it. 25 man roster before Sept. 1 for postseason eligibility (with exceptions of course).

Yeah... well he sucked real hard in rookie ball his first year... he hasn't played at all this year because he'll play in short season ball again so we haven't been able to see if he still is as sucky

Contrary to your silly comment, I'm stoked Pache is climbing these rankings, same with Riley. He is a very good prospect, same with Riley. It is possible to say a guy is a good prospect without leading a circle jerk around his picture with tehteh though.

It's really too bad you aren't man enough to honor your bets...now we all have to read your blabber forever.

Now off you go Taylor, time to study for whatever menial course you're taking on your way to a useless degree. Shoo, shoo!!

Just one scout's rankings of the SAL league, which has lots of Rome on it.
