Probably the best start of Fried's pro career in Gwinnett today: 7 IP, 3 H, 1 R/ER, 0 BB, 11K

went to the G-Braves game against the Tides, Fried looked great. Fastball sitting 92-94, think he hit 96 on the gun once. Used a change frequently in the low 80s, but his curveball was just nasty. Was throwing it for strikes at times to get ahead and got a number of K's either burying it in the dirt or putting it just off the outside edge.

Really wish we had statcast data for AAA games.

I'm very interested to see how Fried's SI is progressing. That pitch is likely the difference between him being mop up BP guy and a 2-3 win SP.

I still think Fried could easily be a strong #4,#5 and would most likely out pitch Julio or McCarthy right now.

Their most recent starts should give both Fried and Wisler a much-needed boost in self-confidence.

    Rome has some serious talent.

Waters with another 2B (#19) to extend his hitting streak.

Encarnacion is 2-2 and hitting near .320

    Ramos just hit another bomb.

Contreras with two more hits too.

What do you think Waters comp is? Is he a Cain type player, or does he have more pop than that? I'm loving what I see out of him so far.

Some good info on Waters and Contreras.

Waters is an exciting young ball player, we could be getting a 280 hitter with 20+ HR and 20+ SB (early) and an above average defensive CF.

We could be looking (Contreras) at a .280 hitter with very good OBP, 15+ HR, and an above average or better everyday catcher. The floor could be a solid #2 catcher.

I know it’s not a big leaguer, but Kiley said today that Waters’ tools are similar to Kelenic, who just went sixth to the Mets. Pretty incredible we got him where we did.

He’s got more pop than Cain.

Encarnacion has an 11-pitch AB that ends in an absolute bomb. LF didn’t even move.
