    Prospect fatigue?
He eliminated himself by just talking about his fastball. Three keys to a good fastball. Velocity, movement and location. If a pitcher is going to have two then touki has the right two. This guy should be immediately fired by his clubs gm for posting that garbage. I don’t care who it was about.

In all fairness, he could be striking them out looking. If we can measure called strikes vs. swing & miss strikes, is there a stat for fooled them on the pitch (whether they were fooled and watched it or were fooled and swang foolishly)

Allard k9 at 6.12 this season. Steamer projects 7.01 though.

His FIP is 3.37 at 75 ip. Pretty impressive for a 20-year-old at AAA

At this point he’s as reasonable a chance as Teheran.

    And much cheaper.

In the age of over stats though, does it really matter? If a batter is fooled enough to be called out on strikes or doesn't offer at it, is not the pitchers fault. That lazy azz writer probably doesn't even realize that even umpires are fooled by Touki's curve. His fastball has plenty of movement and flattens when he tries to guide it. There. Scouting report done.

    Btw...same post almost. Ha

It would if you could give Teheran away. Which the Braves absolutely should do if they can.

According to one poster, we should be able to get one of the Angels' top three prospects for him.

true, just don't have much hope for that.

I do wonder if some team wouldn't mind that salary just for the innings with the chance that maybe he is a little better than average at that salary.

i think we'd have to include a prospect for someone to take back the salary at this point.

Consider the source of the idea...

You're right. It is beyond stupid to stick a 22 year old in the MLB BP after only giving him 200 IP at AA.

Touki is slowly arching the prospect improvement curve. It is just hard to notice.

    IP. Era. BB/9. K/9. Whip.
    2014. 28.2. 8.48. 5.7. 10. 1.95
    2015. 87.2. 4.83. 4.9. 6.9. 1.357
    2016. 132.1. 3.88. 4.8 8.7. 1.333
    2017. 145. 4.53. 4. 10.4. 1.345
    2018. 74. 3.41. 3.8. 11.2. 1.216

So he has improved his K rate while steadily dropping his walks. His era and whip are finally catching up. Why would anyone want to give up on a 21 year old prospect who is literally getting better every year.
