A pitching coach isn't the reason a Julio can't throw strikes anymore. He just has deteriorating stuff and is afraid to throw it in the strike zone.

Shades of last game when JT gave up a grand slam before he'd recorded an out.

Cardinal announcers now whining about how Maddux and Glavine couldn't pitch today because of the strike zone being superimposed on TV. They've also gone on about how the Cards own the Braves. I should just mute it but I guess I must like being pissed off.

I think there is a legitimate argument to be made about Glavine. Not that he couldn't pitch in todays era but he's no HOFer with that ability right now. Maddux is a different animal. Literal argument he's the best pitcher ever.

I agree. Maddux could put the ball wherever he wanted to and get batters out in a multitude of ways. Glavine lived by putting the ball a few inches off the plate--over and over again--for strikes.

With his OBP Ender is our worst option at leadoff besides Bae and yet Snit wants him up there because things "feel right" when Ender is batting leadoff.

If the runner was trying to advance to first base, Acuna was on target.
