    GDT, Tues 7/3 vs Yanks

Standard line up of late with Suzuki hitting 5th as DH, Flowers hitting 7th and catching.

Minter, Winkler and Biddle probably not available tonight.

This leaves Viz, Carle, Freeman, Jackson and Phillips.

Note that Freeman is the only lefty available.

It really doesn't make sense waiting to acquire a situational lefty. The sooner the better.

Ditto. Also really love this lineup with Suzuki, Flowers, and Camargo in it. Feel like its our strongest DH lineup.

Could be a high scoring game.

In fact the bottom of the Yankees lineup looks really bad...almost like have three pitchers hitting there.

Our lineup is not bad with Acuna in there. We did well to keep it going when he was out.

I thought they might option Reed for Viz, almost have to with Snit managing and how thin our bullpen will be tonight. Plus Santana has no minor league options so cannot option him without DFA and waivers, then he could elect free agency.

Yes, his big games made the time without Acuna not hurt us as it could've otherwise.

Very interesting start for Newcomb, a lot like vs Boston...because a bad start might not be what we think from him even though this park is so small. It could well be a lot like what happened in Boston, with Boston leaving the bats on their shoulders, a lot of fouling off, pitch count being driven up, and a 3 IP 3 H 3 ER 4 BB 4 K type start.

Given the bottom three in the order for the Yankees, a lot like vs Boston, he has every opportunity to throw a decent enough start (given how good the Yankees offense can be) as well.
Aggression with prospects is fine, but being stupid is not. There should be a way to find a happy medium between a Pirates like idea of being overly cautious with prospects and going stupidly fast with prospects.

Nunez hit a three run homer to put Boston up 3-0 early on the Nats.

The Harvey rumor was shot down by the Nats. So maybe nothing to it.

AA should call them up and offer to let them win the division for Robles

If Newk can pitch a good game Braves have a shot at taking the series tonight. Yanks starter has an ERA over 5 and gave up 6 his last start vs TB. Plus Chapman, Betances and Robertson have also pitched the past two nights. Neither Chapman or Betances has appeared three straight days this year. So their bullpen is not fresh either for tonight.

A 5.00 ERA is our cryptonite.
