Sims fastball is straight as an arrow.. don't think anderson's is.

The post you quoted was me comparing Anderson's stuff to Nick Pivetta's, not Sims. I was speculating on a different comp for Anderson and used Pivetta. Someone noted their minor league stats aren't terribly similar. And my response was that it was based more on their stuff.

Sims' SI actually verges on MLB average. He has a few average pitches.

He doesn't have good enough control to make those average pitches work at the MLB level though.

He is a 6th SP or AAAA guy.

Last time I looked at his stuff he was a big fly ball pitcher. I thought he could be a 5th starter in a park like Oakland, San Diego or maybe Miami.

This is my take. If his control was just okay, he's a useful major leaguer. The fastball/curve combo would probably play well out of the pen. But without location his stuff is useless.

He is the type of guy the As and Rays tend to overvalue. I wouldn't be surprised if he was dealt to them at some point.

I think Anderson and Wilson are looking special, though... its pretty nice to have them, Touki and Wright waiting in wings.... then you also have Allard and Wentz.
