Pollock up, I'm predicting that HR right now or the grand slam after he walks him.

There's very good reason why he's so bad against playoff teams, they know to just hold the bat against him and go by the can't throw 3 strikes before 4 balls theory.
Aggression with prospects is fine, but being stupid is not. There should be a way to find a happy medium between a Pirates like idea of being overly cautious with prospects and going stupidly fast with prospects.

Nothing like walking the bases full in the process of getting one out. For his last three starts, Newk just isn't very good.

Smarter hitting teams are simply just going to hold the bat against Newcomb and make him have to throw one down the middle. It's going to be surprising if he finishes below a 4.5 ERA this year.

Probably won't be able to help him enough the way he's pitching.

0-2 pitches in the dirt are not good calls for newcomb

Hold the bat against Newcomb, let him walk 3 men, wait for the cookie right down broad street.

And as I've said, for me with these types, it's starter or massive bust because for me, you also can't be a relief pitcher with a BB/9 over 3.5-MAYBE 4 max. He figures out he can't throw balls out of the zone too much or he washes out very soon.

Well luckily the amazing Coppy got us New for the MVP candidate shortstop. Expectations need to be high

So we're pretty much guaranteed to see 3+ innings of the bullpen after an inning or two.

Greinke’s change to Albies was so nasty Mathis could barely catch it.

For those wondering what 80 grade control looks like, you’re seeing it right now.
