6 innings, 3 runs is about a normal start for him. You take that.

markakis is slow and didn't seem ready for that play, maybe just his speed though. Good play made too.

I don’t blame Kakes for that, throw was excellent

look how spread out his playing time has been in the past. Not saying he didn't get some shots but he seems a better hitter now. Few hit well with such spread out playing time as they need regular reps to stay sharp.

He played everyday with the Dodgers AAA team most of last year. In a hitter's league he put up a .635 OPS.

Swanson posted an encouraging past month or so via-à-vis k and bb numbers, and he’s put up 2.2 bwar / 1.5 fwar so far this season, despite missing a chunk of time. I’m more than fine letting him ride out the year at SS. Blame Hart et al for overselling the kid, not the player himself.

I would let Biddle hit for himself. With Vizcaino gone for now you need innings, and he can given another.
Aggression with prospects is fine, but being stupid is not. There should be a way to find a happy medium between a Pirates like idea of being overly cautious with prospects and going stupidly fast with prospects.

Tough having two all-defense players in lineup (Swanson/ender)

Strong inning from Biddle. He's gonna get more high leverage opportunities in the second half.

Oh no: Looks like Syndergaard is done for the night after his fastball velo dropped off last inning and Callaway and medical staff went out to check on him. He finished the 5th inning, but is not starting the 6th. Seth Lugo will take over. #Mets

Yes, he had a terrible year last year in both AAA and minors until the playoffs where he took off. Bottom line is he is a better hitter now and like Swanson he is above average defensively at short.

Plus I think both players can/should be better with the bat than they’ve shown so far this year. Plus plus, Culberson is not the answer, fun as he’s been.

    I am
And SS and CF are the positions you can live with.

But Culbertson can defend and apparently camargos has improved as well. Worth bringing on Moose for the bat upgrade?
