I dont see it, they have the 2nd best run differential in the NL right now.

They'll be there until the end.

On paper the Nats are a better team and that's why they were the overwhelming division preseason favorite. However, at this point, we've got a 4.5 game lead on them and have lost six fewer games. We couldn't ask for much more on the 7th of August. If we could just split the next two with Washington, we'll have done our jobs for now.

Nats have a very rough stretch coming up, they may dropout of the division race for real.

One game where they out scored us by just 5 runs. Which means they were right on our ass before that.

I don’t normally watch 12 straight hours of Braves coverage, and drink beer, and refresh this page....but this has been great. Our Clubhouse has the momentum....

I’ve been telling y’all all year.

Team is ****ing loaded. It’s ridiculous they’ve underperformed so badly thus far.

I'm referring to the 1 game they won 25-4. Really padded the run differential there.

Forgot about that one. Yeah, that does make a big difference. Still, it counts, and we’re in August now.

I wouldn't call it luck as they did a great job working the count, but Greinke walking so many is odd and super unfortunate.

Seriously. It took a masterful performance by Newk and a late game triple against the pen for us to win against one of the best in the game. The Phils catch one of the best pitchers in the game on an off night.

to be fair the phillies are tied for the lead in walk%. they walk a lot.
Nats are 2nd and Newk only walked 2. Pretty nice.

They are beating us in run differential right now. Either way, +69 is pretty solid. They're a good team, IMO.
21 of the runs because of one game.

    stat anomaly.

And Dodgers are #1, so newcomb's last 14.2 ip against 2 of the best walk teams has resulted in 3 walks

Absolutely yuge. It's been freshening after all the inconsistencies we've seen from veterans like Teheran.

The Phils walk a lot but Grienke's BB/9 is under 2. So him walking 4 in a 7 inning appearance is an off night no matter what team he's facing.
