I get giddy every time Folty pitches! I hope he can continue to build on a solid season and break these recent strings of meh starts.

One of the frustrating things about Dansby is that his problem is so obvious. He can't recognize the slider. Pitchers have killed him with sliders away for a couple years now. If he could figure that out I think his batting average would jump 30 points. I'm starting to get impatient but I hate the idea of trading him, him figuring it out, and becoming an All Star SS.

What striker just said- I almost wish we could send him down until he figures that damn pitch out- and he will- but this just isn’t the time to do that.
In the very least, he needs to be spending every waking hour watching video so he can recognize it better

It's not just the slider, it's a number of things, the interesting thing is, he was making all of his flaws look better by mashing mistakes, but that stopped once he got hurt originally. He had a flurry from the Boston series against Kimbrel to the 2nd LA game where he was looking competent, but after that, 2017 Dansby has returned and hasn't gone away.
Aggression with prospects is fine, but being stupid is not. There should be a way to find a happy medium between a Pirates like idea of being overly cautious with prospects and going stupidly fast with prospects.

Every hitter has flaws. Dansby has plenty apart from the slider issues. It's just that weakness to sliders is so huge. Fixing it makes him a different player. Other issues would still be there but you can work with them much easier if Dansby isn't giving away a strike or two an AB swinging at sliders out of the zone.

Interesting stat about Folty, for anyone who cares about "Quality Starts" (6 or more IP and 3 or less runs allowed). After his complete game shutout against Washington on 6/1, he went 8 starts without a quality start, until his last start against the Mets. It's been a real challenge for him to get deep into games lately.

Inciarte won't get a chance to hit a triple off Herrera again in this series. Herrera has been put on the DL with shoulder strain. He's being replaced by Koda Glover according to MLBTR.

Glad to see the 2 youngest guys on the roster are rested enough to play in the same game.

Braves will be 1 back if they split, tied if they win both, and 2 back if they lose both games to Was.
