compare that with how many starts phillies starters have missed.

that has to be luck more than anything else. it's crazy.
A good reminder how dumb it is to invest an enormous amount of assets into pitching

Had we not had pitching depth, we would've been buried a while back.

that doesn't make any sense. and i've stated my opinion on why it doesn't.

"we know we're going to lose a lot of pitchers throughout a season. so hear me out, let's not build depth there, since we're going to lose them." that logic makes no sense.

None of the young guys are providing the depth. Our 5 man is all veterans and a 2nd year pitcher

it's just a reach to try and prove an old, washed up turd of a point.

We say this nearly every game and then go on and win 3 before losing 3 more. They're crazy talented, but I don't trust them at all.

newk and folty are young and were part of the push to actually get pitchers into the org (since we had no hope there when the push was started).
most of the other pitchers we heavily invested in are still prospects.
it's too bad jason hursh can't get a start tho

Sanchez getting hurt was huge today. Parsons and McCreery both looked pretty terrible and the Nats just pummeled them. However, we still would have had a good chance at winning the game if the offense didn't go quiet the last 5 innings Gonzalez pitched.

I should be happy with a split against a hot Nationals team in Washington but I feel like we'd have taken 3 of 4 if not for losing our starter to freak injuries twice.

    that's a terrible analogy.
if you typically absolutely *need* X amount of stocks (which teams do pitchers), and you know X amount are going to go to 0, why doesn't it make sense to get more of them?

Yep .. some bad luck. Splitting was a good outcome
We're a game back from Philly and still have 6 with them

I honestly think without the two pitchers getting hurt that we had a beyond excellent chance to sweep them. Still, I'll take a split on the road all day long.

good thing we used camargo to face a righty rather than have him start the game vs a lefty.

I prefer using my assets on established pitchers (Gausman, Mcarthy, etc) than on speculative pitchers that have a ridiculous bust rate.

I prefer investing in established stocks (AAPL) than on stock with chances to go to 0

    But that's just me.

I'm not saying don't get any pitching but we got only pitching.

Thank God for Wren getting us all of our good position talent
