Eric Young also suspended 1 game and fined

Not enough. Should have been 10 games minimum.
Marlins will likely appeal, then right before the series next weekend, they’ll drop it and Urena will serve it then.

What a joke
Is this not the longest suspension in MLB history of any pitcher for throwing at a hitter? Hamels was suspended 5 games for hitting Harper and he literally said, "I was trying to hit him", afterwards.
Is Acuna somehow so special that him getting hit requires a precedent shattering suspension?
Are we maaaaaybe being just a little irrational here? Just a little? Maybe?

I think intentionally throwing at a hitter should be at least an automatic 10-15 gamer for the first time. But you are right that this isn't a special circumstance or anything. I think the only real difference here is that Acuna didn't really do anything to warrant getting beaned under the holy "unwritten rules"... That bat flip was pretty inconspicuous in my opinion.
If every convicted car thief historically gets 5 years in prison, it makes zero sense to expect a thief to get 10 years in prison just because he stole YOUR car.
It needs to stop. And this was a perfect opportunity to make that statement. Football is changing because they realize how dangerous it can be for these large humans beating the **** out of each other and threatening the lives and careers of the league's superstar players (all players really, but let's be real, it comes down to the money). How is throwing an object nearly 100 mph at another human being with the intent to harm them at all something that should be acceptable in any segment of society? You're threatening the life of another human....for sport? Players are so much stronger these days. And pitchers regularly throw in the upper 90s and higher. That wasn't the case even 10 years ago, was it? It's insane to continue thinking the same way as 10, 20, 50 years ago. The game has changed. This needs to change with it as a consequence before something really tragic occurs unnecessarily.
What if it was a car you and your grandad rebuilt from scratch and he died right before you put the last spark plug in to get it running?
I’m just kidding but your are ridiculing completely normal reactions from fans, further supported by other sites agreeing with most of the folks here.
In short, you are making a mountain out of a molehill

I don’t like it. A 6 game suspension for a starting pitcher either an extra day or two of rest between starts or worst case skipping 1 start. Not much of a punishment if you ask me
Social media seems to be geared around encouraging people to gather pitchforks and torches and try to outperform each other in expressing just how awful something is and how terrible a penalty should be inflicted upon someone for violating rules they've just made up.
