Yeah, but baseball is weird. Capitalize on the chance when you have it. This is a legit team and should at least have a great shot at the postseason down the wire. Make it, and then see what you can do. Throw Touki and Gohara in the pen and have some fun.
Biddle's probably up next. Are we brave enough to put in Allard and/or Sobotka later to save the bullpen?

Yeah injuries happen, players struggle...you never know. BUT...if everything just breaks average and we of course add even more talent...we’re contenders. Not that we aren’t this year, but we are pretty big underdogs against some teams. I don’t think that’s the case next year.

Acuna's OPS is now at .874... I remember someone saying he was about to go on a torrid streak. I think we are seeing what that looks like.
This is the perfect team for that and the perfect game.
Allard should be tossing 3 innings of mop up work right now.

We could see a jump next year...or things could go the other way. Markakis has played above his head, as has Camargo. We've been good at catcher. Newcomb/Folty...we've had several spots that have been better than expected. That could easily go the other way next year. You just never know.
I agree with you generally speaking, but I also would have thought the Cubs would just be demolishing people at this point. Baseball is weird.
Biddle threw a lot of stressful pitches Saturday. I would have liked to give him another day off if all possible. 8-1 should be safe enough to throw guys who don’t pitch out there.
