    Personal Updates Thread

Starting a thread for anyone to share any personal updates you might have with your friends on the board. I'll get things started.

After much time and heartbreak, Lady Striker and I are expecting our second Baby Striker later this year. I should be able to follow any late night drama from the Winter Meetings as I don't expect much sleep during that time.

Got a traditional cape with a slanted roof. Blowing it up for a full two floor colonial. Making room for #2 and maybe even #3. Construction is wildly expensive but it is what it is.

Congrats! That was a big chance you took with her having 14 years to realize you out kicked your coverage.

Wife found some baby snakes on the sticky pads in the basement today, so we're probably going to sell the house now, if she doesn't burn it down first.

One thing that's great about where she grew up (and where we live now) is the dating pool is shallower than a puddle the day after a rain.

When she eventually takes over the operations, I expect fully comp'd pancakes and meals every time I'm up there hiking as reimbursement for your comp'd membership dues here.

Baby Striker arrived a little earlier than expected this week. Everyone is doing great. Before today I didn't know a person could survive with only 4 hours of sleep over a 4 day span lol.

You'll still get eight hours of sleep. It just takes 15 or 16 hours to get it.

Congratulations. It's life-changing in a beautiful way. Savor every minute.

So I never updated because I'm bad at remembering but we did the marriage deed. Christmas into New Orleans was hell on my body but a few things.

    1. I'm only flying first class. Not having my knees in my chest was truly an amazing experience.
    2. New Orleans is a smaller city than I remember. Like it's a city but it's like a smaller city. In my head I considered it like Philly or Boston, but it's more like Buffalo or Cleveland. But I guess when you as a city are responsible for the first original American style of music and has the rep of the best culinary city in the US, it swings higher.
    3. Everyone else with me wasn't ready for city life. I wanted to walk everywhere but others wanted to uber. I only wanted to uber 2 places, once to my sibling's house as it was across the Mississippi, and then from there to the Tux Rental shop.

Anyway, New Orleans was fun. Always is, got a handful of fun stories from it.

One thing that sticks out to me, my FiL spent the whole trip wanting things that weren't very southern or new orleans, he wanted Pizza, and we went to 2 places for him and he was disappointed and I told him duh we're in New Orleans, not New York. Then we're eating Breakfast at WIlla Jean and I'm debating what southern breakfast to grab (went with a chicken biscuit) he wanted Bagel and Lox. What's dumb is they will be coming to NJ for our party there in the end of April and you know what NJ has? Great Pizza and good bagels. DOn't even have to go like 10 minutes from my Parents house to get great forms of both.

Congrats man - marriage is a hit or miss thing but when you hit it’s amazing. I’m speaking as someone who has experienced both.

    God bless.
