The Dodgers lead the NL in RD by a wide margin. They’re under playing their Pythagorean record by 8 games. That’s incredible. Hopefully that poor luck continues in the playoffs.

So, will the braves go for home field advantage for nlds or rest players for playoffs?

I think everyone gets a day off after clinching. Then play it by ear. I think getting in is the biggest goal right now.

3.5 back of Cubs. Cubs play on Monday while the Braves are off. Depending how far they are back starting Tuesday would depend how I play things the rest of the week. It would be worth pursuing overall homefield to avoid the Dodgers if they have a reasonable shot.

As good as the Braves are away vs. home, still need homefield advantage.

Braves 1.5 games up on Dodgers who play at 9:10m tonight vs SD.

3 games back of Cubs who are playing the Pale Hose and winning 2-1 in Bot 1st.

The Cubs and Dodgers both won. Standings stand at 3.5 games back of Cubs and 1 game up on Dodgers.

As it stands now, the Braves would play the Dodgers starting at home, Cubs would play the Wild Card winner at home.

I’m not counting the Rockies out yet. They trail the Dodgers by 1.5. On paper the Dodgers have the easier remaining games. But the Giants are a rivalry matchup and I’m sure they would take some pride in ruining the Dodgers season. The Rockies have 7 left against the Phillies and Nats. Both the Phillies and Nats could turn into dumpster fires at anytime. The Rockies going 6-1 is not impossible.

The Phillies elimination number from the Wild Card is 1. I figure the Braves should go ahead and do them a solid and just get rid of that number for them today. Then I'd rest a bunch of the starters for game 1 of the Mets series against Vargas.

Dodgers and Rockies both on pace to win today, looking at 1.5 lead over LA heading into next week and LA having a 1.5 game lead over the Rockies in the West.

Speaking of the Rockies game, did you or anyone else here catch Yoan Lopez pitching for Arizona today? He's that Cuban kid we destroyed in Arizona. Well, he looked like a totally different pitcher today dominating striking out the side against the Rockies best hitters. He has now 6 innings since that game vs us and has allowed nothing in those games. He was hitting 99 mph with his fastball. To sum it up, while we beat up on him no one else has touched him so far since.

Lopez was regarded as one of the better young pitching prospects in baseball a few years back. The D'backs spent A TON in the J2 market for him. He has gone through a lot though. He retired, then unretired, performed, then underperformed... He is an interesting guy and the upside is definitely there for him. Super high risk though

Dodgers thumped SD today 14-0. Braves still hold a 1 game lead on Dodgers.

Cubs beat Pale Hose 6-1. Braves still 3.5 back of Cubs.

Dodgers now have a +173 run differential. Best in NL by a wide margin, and third best in MLB. Very real chance we get housed in the NLDS again.

If I remember correctly, the Dodgers are like 5 games over .500 vs RHP compared to 10 games over .500 vs LHP.

Conversely, aren't we one of the best teams in the league versus LHP?

What would it take to leave a game without your shoulder?

If so that is not what we saw facing them, it was Fried and Newcomb (both lefties who they had trouble with) while they scored 4 in 5 innings off Folty including two homers and beat Sanchez in game one of that four game series, our only win was Newcomb's almost no-no. Fried pitched 5 innings in his game and lost but only gave up a run.
