Allard won't be throwing, he's been called up to Atlanta.

Maybe getting him some work. Not sure why otherwise. He has been impressive thus far.

With the two new additions, Allard makes a little more sense than Sobotka in the event they need someone for more than one inning over the next couple of days.
Has there EVER been a statement and question a certain someone should absolutely never have made and asked publicly more than...

Kinda pathetic to see yourself as a message board knight in shining armor. How impotent does someone have to be in real life to resort to playing hero on a message board?

This move appears to be about the 20 day options rule and not losing an option year.

As Bowman and others noted on Twitter: "By recalling Allard and optioning Sobotka today, the Braves ensured Allard will exit this season with three option years remaining.

If necessary, Allard could be used as a long relief option. Sobotka will not be eligible to return until Sept. 9."

Since the rosters expand soon, Braves losing Sobotka till Sept. 9th hopefully won't hurt the pen. As we can add more arms Saturday.

Simply have to do something about moving the FireFrogs - rainouts following them on the road.

I think he was called up mainly due to roster manipulation, the Braves roster is going to look like a spring training roster in a couple days and it's with a team in a pennant race.

I don't like it as he's an option when here but oh well. I'm not going to write him off totally as pitchers can adjust, he could start throwing a cutter, etc, or go to driveline and regain velocity, but the guy we see now truly doesn't have much of a chance. It sucks because...

You can see why everyone was drooling all over him at that point. At that point he was a pitchable lefty with very good stuff for a teen, 90-94 fastball, looked projectable for more considering how young he was, a big curveball, and developing changeup.

And outside of the changeup getting much better, most of that is gone. The curve is still good, but it's not as amazing as it was. It's crazy how his back injury has really sapped him, as if it weren't for that he could legit have been a #2, very close to an ace.
Aggression with prospects is fine, but being stupid is not. There should be a way to find a happy medium between a Pirates like idea of being overly cautious with prospects and going stupidly fast with prospects.
