I'm glad he is getting the work out of the pen...let him have a few more chances there...we need to evaluate whether he can help us out of the pen in the playoffs

I do remember that instance, and I commended Snit at the time for it. He also used Tucker once to force the opposing manager to bring in a LHP, which was countered by Suzuki.

The point remains that Duda should have gotten a chance to tie the game today when he was guaranteed a swing with the platoon advantage.

All these little mistakes add up over time.

A young pitcher with control issues like Touki probably isn’t the best choice to have sit in the BP for a week between appearances.

they do get magnified in the playoffs...I'm hoping we clinch early enough to give Duda and yes Duvall more ABs to sharpen up. I think letting Duvall rot on the bench is a mistake.

My thoughts exactly, I also agree with Enscheff's point you were responding to.

Don’t care about the loss really but 14 walks is embarrassing and as an emotional fan we should send everyone on the staff down to double a. And they are even playing. So screw them. Oh and I hate chuckie.

as bad as the pitching was today, we also only got two hits and our only run was unearned after an error. So at least we didnt waste a game we scored 5 or 6 losing 7-6 i suppose.

Not for me, Julio had put up a 2.53 ERA over his last 7 starts. Even with all the walks today he only gave up two runs in 4 IP. He was due an off game and it was today but wasn't as bad as others off games as far as runs allowed. Despite Newk's great start in SF he is on the bubble for me the most right now. But as the weather turns colder, maybe that will help him and things change. But even so I would lean towards having Teheran in the playoff rotation at this point (esp. if we face a team like Colorado who he has pitched so well against).

That said, I would also consider having Sanchez and Teheran piggy back in a game (one of them starts but first sign of trouble go to the other).

That is a problem with in game strategy.
    Agreed.

Sounds like Camargo's groin pull was worse than reported:

Camargo (groin) is still sore. I wouldn’t be surprised if he stays out of the lineup through Wednesday.

The 14 walks issued by Braves throwers sets a new franchise record, breaking an 80 year old record.

With Chuck Hernandez as the pitching coach, I knew we could achieve great things!
