That was a fastball off the inside corner. Acuna clearly has confidence in his eye at this point so he took a ball, even though it was called a strike. Calling that a bad AB is stupid.
Philly beat up on Gausman with the O's in July, walks like that didn't help. Hope we are not going to see a repeat.
When Acuna faces premium velocity pitchers you can still see he clearly has problems with it at times. He missed a pitch down the middle that was 95 in that at bat. It's not as big of a problem as it was before he lowered his hands, but you can still see it.
Aggression with prospects is fine, but being stupid is not. There should be a way to find a happy medium between a Pirates like idea of being overly cautious with prospects and going stupidly fast with prospects.
It wasn't a bad AB. But this guy has been a little all over the place. You have to expand the zone some with two strikes.
