Why not Duda over Flaherty? Flaherty's not going to be on the post season roster.

Oh, there's a chance he is if Dansby can't go. That's the problem when you don't push harder for depth, one injury is going to lead to a major issue of who's going to be on the roster. Your choices will be: A. A guy that hasn't gotten a hit at all this year in the major leagues. or B. A guy that hasn't gotten a hit since July 7th in the major leagues.
Aggression with prospects is fine, but being stupid is not. There should be a way to find a happy medium between a Pirates like idea of being overly cautious with prospects and going stupidly fast with prospects.

Even if they’re hedging and want to give Flaherty PAs, I would’ve liked to have Culbs in the OF, Duda at first for some practice against LHP, Flaherty at 3B, and Camargo with some just-in-case reps at short.

I think Duda has a stiff back.

so what, he still needs abs just to stay sharp. RF shouldn't even be considered for the postseason roster. Not pinch hitting him last night or the night before while using Tucker who cannot even play in the postseason made no sense either.

Ok. I agree he needs some ABs but I don't see the big deal about not starting him vs a lefty

He only got two abs sunday, off day monday, no abs so far this series. I will be surprised if he gets more than one full start in the last series. Maybe he at least gets to pinch hit today.

rockies won their 7th in a row taking first, so now there is a very real chance we face them instead of dodgers. There is also more of a chance they finish tied and have to play Monday to decide it as well.

It seems there is a reason we haven't seen Duda and it isn't because of the lefty and snit, he has apparently been suffering from some back issues. Now not pinch hitting him makes sense, but not good if this becomes an issue to lingers past today.

Going for Culbs and Duda to Flaherty and Ruiz would be a pretty massive downgrade to the playoff bench.

oh yea, even if we face the rockies you don't want that. Ruiz could make the postseason roster without any hits too, he still has none in MLB this year.

If we face the Rockies honestly I would trust Teheran vs them more than anyone else. He seems to own them. He is certainly in my rotation vs them and maybe even before game 4.

I see Braves fans questioning snit for not using Culberson at third and Camargo at short. DOB either interacts mostly with our most ignorant fans or Braves fans are among the most ignorant in MLB thanks to our announcers and beat writers, etc. For example, check out this response in a thread questioning Snit for Culberson at short rather than Camargo:

    "@PrestonKelso
    Replying to @DOBrienATL
Culberson says he's most comfortable at short, but I think it's obvious he plays better at third. Tough call"

I see posts like this regularly reading DOB and Bowman's twitter.
