lol, that's stupid. Culberson has a better bat and very good glove. Making a big deal about any error he made tonight is like saying Swanson is a bad defender those two games vs Colorado he made errors and one cost us the game. It happens. Shoot Camargo had a really bad week vs Boston and Arizona not long ago too, but he is a very good third baseman. Everyone makes errors.

Would be real hard for me to keep Touki out of the rotation next season. He's awfully talented.
    thank you weso1!

Culberson is a negative defender his whole career. Swanson is so much better its not even close

Culberson is not a negative defender at short.

No he isn't, do you even listen to interviews from your own team's GM? Such as his interview with ESPN not long ago. AA talked about his plus defense at short and keeping him for that and not any expected offense. The offense was a bonus and not expected from AA, he admitted.

Culberson has an 8 DRS at short with plus range. He has never had a minus DRS year at short, even in his small sample with us playing mostly LF etc his DRS at short is 1 and not a minus.

He's -6.8 for his career according to fangraphs. Where's all that negative accumulated at?

At every position outside of SS and 1B. He's not good at SS this year though, but he actually isn't good at any position he plays this year on defense.

He's a utility man that can't play defense outside of SS and 1B well. It's honestly very funny, as Acuna does the same thing, where what is viewed as the harder positions in the OF, he's better, and he struggles in what is viewed as the traditional lumbering OF spot.
Aggression with prospects is fine, but being stupid is not. There should be a way to find a happy medium between a Pirates like idea of being overly cautious with prospects and going stupidly fast with prospects.

The Braves just faced a very difficult stretch where they faced Nola, deGrom, and Syndergaard a total of 4 times int he last 5 games. That is a tougher 5 game stretch than what they could see with the Rockies in the NLDS. The Dodgers could always match that with Kershaw twice, Buehler, etc.

That number also includes the position adjustment.

But in a grand total of 372 innings at short he's +8 DRS and +2.5 UZR

Clearly it's his best position and he actually plays well there

Culberson is solid at short, sure he's not elite there like Swanson but he can more than hold it down there.

Also the Braves didnt score last night, so it's not all Culberson's fault, gotta score to win so they say.
