TCU was the higher ranked team and should have been a top 4 team. Most people predicted TCU to beat Ole Miss. And TCU I'm sure was pissed off and wanted to prove something, whereas Ole Miss had nothing to play for. Not sure why the result was so surprising to you.

# of teams with 6 overall wins is not a good way to defend a conference's strength. Head to head may be it. Although over-rated does not mean bad.

When 4 of your wins comes against the likes of The Citadel and Alabama A&M it's not that impressive. Having to win two games in conference is no impressive feat.
