Swift isn't the physical, grinding runner that Chubb and Gurley were. But Swift is probably the biggest big play threat Georgia has had at RB in recent memory. If you get the ball to Swift in space he can do silly things.

Ultimately I think Georgia's chances are very, very slim. As you noted, Fromm hasn't taken the step forward this year Georgia fans had hoped, the coaching staff hasn't done a great job, and the linebackers have been MIA all season.

But, Georgia still has a big O-line, a fantastic stable of RBs, lots of talent at WR, and the best CB in the conference. If Tua is banged up and Georgia can make some big plays, it could be a ballgame. Georgia is one of the few teams with the talent to make it a ballgame even under those conditions. If Tua is healthy and on and Georgia can't make some big plays, it's not a game.

Looks like the debate this year could be Oklahoma or Ohio State for the playoff. So long as Alabama takes care of business, but UGA is going to have something to say about that. There’s something about Alabama and Georgia playing for a title in Atlanta.

My Dawgs have a tall order ahead of them. I know Alabama would be favored by less versus Clemson, but UGA will likely be Alabama's toughest test. If they blow out UGA, just cancel the playoffs

This game only means something to one team and it isn’t Alabama.

Bama are the Patriots of College Football. They're always going to get the calls and the breaks.

My final top four rankings after championships have been determined.

Alabama, Clemson, Oklahoma, and Ohio State. I think Georgia is in the discussion as one of the best four teams, but they had two opportunities and blew them both. I know the committee is going to put Notre Dame in, but they don’t deserve it. Join a conference and win your conference then you can make a case. Everyone else plays 13 games. Irish just get to play with a different set of rules.

Pretty easy decision for the playoff committee. Ohio State is clearly the weakest of the bunch and as such, deserves to be left out in the cold.

Most of the teams who play 13 games play one of those games against a ****ty school or D2 school. Notre Dame doesn’t. So why fault them? Ohio State lost to Purdue. Purdue sucks. Oklahoma has one of the worst defenses in college football. Oklahoma lost to Texas. You think Texas could beat Michigan? You think Texas is really that much better than Stanford or Syracuse? They’re not. They’d split those games 50-50 if they played.

Oklahoma won the fourth spot IMO. The committee will not put a two loss team ahead of either of the one loss conference championship teams. So that eliminates Georgia. That Purdue loss of 28 points by Ohio State will be remembered. Only question in my mind is if the committee bumps Oklahoma to #3 and a game against Clemson while moving ND down to four and matching them up with Bama.

When everyone plays Notre Dame their goals are still intact after the game. These are basically exhibitions because everyone else plays in a conference so if they lose to the Irish it’s okay because these aren’t actual real games that matter. Right now their resume isn’t even that impressive either. Not gonna argue my point because I know they are getting in. They just don’t deserve it.

I don't watch nearly the amount of college football that I did in my youth (you know, back when they played in leather helmets), but here are a few of my 2 cent observations about the final 4.

    1.) Alabama (any doubt?)

As for 2, 3, and 4 and some of you guys' comments.

kgr is right about OU's defense being sucky to say the least but a couple of things in their defense. Kyler Murray is better than most, including myself, gave him credit for being and Lincoln Riley is already a better coach IMO than Bob Stoops ever was. Stoops was a master recruiter but his coaching cred went downhill every year after they won the NC in 2000/2001. I can see them getting in based on reputation or accomplishment but I can also see them getting left out.

By the way, while we're on the subject of team's getting in who don't/didn't really deserve it, what about Florida State while Bobby Bowden was their HC?

Those who point out ND's non-conference schedule make good points but who the heck does Clemson play every year? Playing basketball in the ACC is a whole lot more hazardous to the health of one's W-L than playing football there. With that said is there anyone here who doubts how good Clemson is?? I'm not doubting them. And if we're playing the "their record is great" card like we are at least somewhat with ND and Clemson, what about UCF? When was the last time they lost a game? Oh and who is their HC again? That name seems to ring a bell for some reason...

I think the coaching turmoil at Ohio State early on played a role in their loss but hey it was a loss, right? What did Urban Meyer and Ohio State do after that? They got way better. So are we talking about who was good early, who turns it on late, or does it have to be the whole season. I remember a few years back Oklahoma State seemed to me to be deserving of a role in championship game based on record, etc., but was told by some folks around here that Alabama was clearly the best team in the nation even though they had a loss. Funny how that works huh?

So my 2 cents guess (and that's overpriced)
    1.) Alabama
    2.) Clemson
    3.) ND
    4.) Ohio State

Not saying this is fair or even best but this is how I see it playing out. I don't think ND is "that good" so I wish they would have to play Alabama first so we could all see for sure.

And even though a LOT of Georgia fans were complete aholes to OU last year, at least before the game, and even though they have 2 losses now, how do you leave Georgia out of the mix considering how they played yesterday?
