Not sure he'll hire a good coach, but I believe we'll have some good personnel come back now, particularly Austin Thomas and Tommy Moffitt from LSU. Most important thing is we got the college football's version of Dave Stewart out of power for at least a while.

No one thought Fulmer ran the program in the ground. I haven't met any Vol fan who didn't truly respect what Fulmer accomplished. But much like Les Miles at LSU or Bowden at FSU, fans thought it was time for a change. He left the program in amazing shape with a bunch of talent. Bad decisions have unfortunately compounded since then.

Georgia kicked Auburn in the teeth. Roquan Smith is going to be a terrific NFL player.

Ohio State’s defense was tough tonight. They looked well coached.

Switch Clemson and Oklahoma’s spots and I agree. Just have to see what happens. You guys know who I want to see get that fourth playoff spot.

I think the fourth spot has to go to Ohio State over bama

    5. Alabama (11-1)

    LAST WEEK: 5

The committee sort of hinted that there wasn’t much difference between Alabama and Ohio State in last week’s rankings. Now it’ll be a fight to overcome the idea that the Buckeyes have a much, much better resume and a conference championship.

    4. Ohio State (11-2)

    LAST WEEK: 8

They did it. And now comes the resume argument. The Iowa loss is a brutal drag, but the Buckeyes beat the unbeaten Badgers, have a win over Penn State, and a win over Michigan State. All three are better than what Alabama has done. And there’s that conference championship trophy that the Crimson Tide don’t have.

    I don’t think there’s a real argument over SOS

Ohio State's loss to Oklahoma and Bama's loss to Auburn are fairly equal. Ohio State's problem is they got trounced by an unranked Iowa. Does beating Wisconsin make up for that loss? Hard to say.

I'd put Ohio State in the playoffs but only because UGA got jobbed by the "you have to win your conference to play for a title" thinking back in 2007. Thinking that miraculously didn't apply to Bama in 20011-2012.

Honestly if it weren't for the 31-point loss to Iowa this wouldn't even be a discussion. I would give the edge to Ohio State.

There's still a lot of work to do for Georgia to get to the top of the mountain but what a tremendous job Kirby Smart has done. It was pretty freaking sweet to pummel Auburn like that.

I know every year is different, but there just needs to be some consistency. One loss Ohio State made it on over 2 loss BIG 10 winner Penn State last year, and Penn State even had the head the head.

I know Bama ended up playing a weak schedule, but they actually beat more teams with wining records than OSU, even if OSU has the more impressive wins. That blowout loss to a pretty mediocre Iowa team is the deciding factor for me.

Yea that's a good point too. I think either team has an argument but consistency has never been the strong suit of any ranking system in college football.

I don't have a dog in the fight and for the most part, Ohio State and Alabama are two of the most insufferable fan bases to listen to gripe (I acknowledge that my fellow Georgia fans are high up that list). So either way this will get annoying.

Maybe they just oughta go the MLB route and let Bama and Ohio State play next weekend for the fourth spot. Doesn't even have to be a whole game. Two 10-minute halves or something like that.

Not much of a game, but we won, so can't hate it.
