The offseason is just starting and the odds for the 2019 World Series is already out...

    St.Louis Cardinals - 16/1
    Washington Nationals - 16/1
    Milwaukee Brewers - 12/1
    Atlanta Braves - 12/1
    Cleveland Indians - 10/1
    New York Yankees - 7/1
    Los Angeles Dodgers - 7/1
    Boston Red Sox - 6/1
    Houston Astros - 6/1

Anyone know where I can buy my World Series tickets yet?

I think Pache is being a little over hyped due to the success of guys lke Albies and Acuna biasing folks a bit, and don't agree with his FV 60 rating. Even if one values Pache as more of a high 50 or 55, then adding Gohara (himself a high 50 or 55) is still way too much value for Realmuto (Allard is essentially filler).

A fair package for Realmuto (~$60M in surplus value) is a single FV 55 guy as the centerpiece, a high 45 or 50 as the other valuable piece, and then 1-2 filler pieces. If someone truly views Pache as a FV 60 guy worth $60M by himself, he is completely off the table in discussions for Realmuto unless it's a 1 for 1.

Would I do Pache for Realmuto straight up? Not if I can sign Ramos or Grandal at good value, but I would probably make that swap if the bidding for those 2 FAs went crazy. It's not wrong to think Realmuto can improve his framing with access to better coaching/analytics, but I've yet to see any pro-Realmuto posters make that point.
Agree with you on Pache’s value.

What FV do you have Soroka and Riley at? Seems like those are the two that have been brought up a lot with Realmuto rumors, but that feels like a significant overpay here to me.

    I concede this point.

Everything we talk about refers to the opening day payroll figure, as did his entire article.

I don't consider myself enough of a prospect expert to have my own FV rankings, so unless it's a rare case like Pache I usually just go by what EL and Kiley say because I consider them the best in the business.

They have both Soroka and Riley as 55s, but I can see cause for concern about Soroka's shoulder that may not be reflected in the latest version of the list. I certainly wouldn't expect any team to accept Soroka as a centerpiece in a trade until he proves himself healthy in live action.

FWIW I had Soroka as a high 55/low 60 before the injury. Now I think I comfortably put him in the mid-high 55 category. The injury scares me a bit, but everything I've heard so far this offseason leads me to believe it wasn't catastrophic. I've never been the highest on Riley, but right now I'd have him as a high 50.

I'd have Pache just slightly above where I have Riley. High 50 or low 55.

Oh wow, I didn't realize they were so high on Pache. Maybe I need to reevaluate where I stand on him. I've kinda seen him as a 45/40/70/80/70 type of prospect, but they have him a half or full grade higher on some of their tools.

What are the chances that the Braves re-sign Sanchez??He wants to return to the Braves and I think he's as valuable as a mentor as he is a starter. If they re=sign him, what would his contract look like?

I'm guessing he would take 5-6M and that would be a very good deal with the Braves

it would put us in a better position to trade away pitching to say the Dbacks for Peralta and Lamb. Say Newcomb and Fried for those two.

I'd definitely be okay with resigning Anibal to a short deal. I don't think its imperative or anything, but if we think there is any chance he could repeat 2018 then its a no-brainer. I don't think it'd take more than 5-6 million to get done

He also had us trading Newcomb, Dansby, Weigel, and Ruiz for Whit Merrifield. Signing Bryce Harper for a 36 million dollar per year deal, signing Corbin to a 22 million per deal, plus adding Iglesias and Familia to the bullpen.

Basically he wanted our entire roster to overturn.
Exactly who'd he have as being left to trade for Iglesias - Riley, Waters, and Anderson?

Kinda pathetic to see yourself as a message board knight in shining armor. How impotent does someone have to be in real life to resort to playing hero on a message board?

Interesting question - and not one asked to pick a fight (just asking) - do you plan to see him play in person before you re-evaluate where you stand on him as a prospect, or are the reports enough?

I've seen him 3 times at Trustmark. Live in the southern half of Mississippi. Granted that he was not at his best while in AA

4:49 Not a great market for SS. A lot of FA options (Iglesias, Mercer, Galvis, Hechavarria) and not many starting jobs available. I'm guessing he takes a 1-year deal at around $5-7MM and hopes to turn it into a multi-year contract next offseason if he has his best offensive season.

Blue Jays have declined Solarte's option. They still have the option to take him through arbitration but are expected to trade or non-tender him.

    This might make someone happy.
