Machado would have been 20% of the payroll for 10 years.

His massage parlor in Florida got raided today. Has to go elsewhere for his happy ending.

Soroka will not be in a trade...he is ours for better or worse. No one would trade for him, unless it was at a discounted rate.

this is a very flawed analogy. teams absolutely need starting pitchers. about 10-12 per year.

Harper will be in Philly, but it seems he has some issues going there. Sounds like he'd rather go to SD if they can match the Phillies offer.

The Giants seem to be hanging around on the Harper front. Like you, I am guessing Phillies, but if there are circumstances other than money that are driving the Harper negotiations, he may want to stay west.

Didn't the white Sox trump machado's deal to SD? Any chance they go just stupid to get Harper?

The funny is that i don’t think Harper really likes the Phils that much, or it would already be a done deal. He’ll end up going there because they will offer him the most. He just keeps holding out hope that someone else enters the mix.

Only with incentives, White Sox wanted Machado more than Harper.

White Sox deal was 270/8 but could reach 320+ or so with incentives/options. If they wanted him so bad, i dont know why they didnt just go 10/320.

That’s what I think. It would have already happened if he wanted to go there. SF or SD makes so much more sense for him being from Las Vegas. Spring Training close to home too. Fans won’t be as rough on him as the Phillies fans will be. Just let him go 0 for 15 and it won’t be nice in Philly. Plus, he will have to deal with hearing it from Nats fans a lot.

Because the 3rd time is happening in Spring Training, when lots of people feel tweaks and get sore. Assuming the 4th time happens this year, that will no longer be the case.

I could see the argument but for him being that young and having 3 instances of shoulder soreness (4 if you include his shoulder hurting lifting weights a month ago) now is the time to be worried.

Time to shut him down and do every kind of test there is on his shoulder. After all that time off for this to reoccur, there is something going on

I’d give Soroka a few weeks rest and rehab and if it flares up again then they need to see about doing surgery to repair whatever is actually going on.

Reports about Kimbrel having not dropped his asking price from the middle of the offseason. May sit out 2019 if he doesn’t get the deal
