    Unlikely trade partner.
Fried or Touki seem to make the most sense in a trade for Pederson. Both are experienced moving in and out of the rotation/BP, making them very valuable immediately as BP pieces who can also start if an injury occurs.

I'm not entirely comfortable with the value of that deal on our part, but the players involved meet each teams needs.

The Cubs may trade Ben Zobrist, so he might be an option.

Yeah. I'm mentioned him a few times. He has one year left on his deal at $12M. Switch hitter without pronounced splits.

Would cost less than Pederson or Peralta in terms of prospect capital. Has a full no-trade.

“I don’t have a no-trade clause at this point, so I could be traded,” Zobrist acknowledged Saturday.

Zobrist is the exact type of player AA is wanting imo. He can hit from both sides is a good defender and is on a 1 year deal.

He's also obviously versatile which seems to be a focus for AA.

Is Shed Long really that highly regarded? Granted, I know almost nothing of their prospects aside from Senzel, but he hasn't appeared on major prospect list that I've seen and he's already 23. Career minor league numbers aren't eye popping either. A 50 FV rating seems..... generous to say the least.

He's not quite a Top 100 prospect. The Reds have 5 of those. But he's generally considered to be the next best prospect after those five.

The Braves best prospect who is not Top 100 is probably Contreras. So he's probably the closest Braves comp in terms of value. Both are listed at FV 50, which actually covers a fairly wide range of players.

I know I would be reluctant to give up Contreras for Gray.

Not sure which lists you’re looking at because I don’t bother with any others.

A 50 plus a pick in the 30s plus a filler is a clear overpay for 1 season Gray, especially for a team unlikely to contend in 2019. It is objectively a bad trade for the Reds.

The fact the Reds see a negotiation window as additional value tells me the Yankees are taking advantage of the dumbest team that wants Gray. The Yankees played this to perfection.

If Zobrist is available it’s almost a given AA is involved. He would allow Acuna to bat in a run production spot.

That's why I mentioned him because I know AA would be interested in him depending on the cost in a trade.

No doubt. It just reeks of a move AA would make and I’d be perfectly fine with it. What would you think we’d have to give up?

Young pitcher no doubt, whichever one AA has been trying to use in a trade all offseason.

I’d gladly bet the over on the 1.6 win projection FG has for him in 2019.

Muller, Allard, or Wentz would be a fair price for Zobrist
