In the 24 hours since news of the deal broke, the Phillies have sold 100,000 tickets, senior vice president of ticket operations John Weber told 94WIP on Friday.
I'm not sure how much revenue each ticket sold brings in, but this is an immediate surge in revenue from signing a big star.
Safe to assume $100 per person means the Phils just raked in $10M in the last 24 hours?
Man we are having some crappy news out of ST so far. Injury bug is biting us. Waiting to hear JD is having calf soreness.

This is the reason I've always argued there's little reason the Braves shouldn't be in on guys at the top of the market more often - at that level (which is maybe even a little light, but probably fair to expect), those top-of-the-market contracts are more like Chipper-level deals in the past without destroying your bottom line.
I don't see any reason you couldn't make the argument that had Atlanta given him the same contract that it wouldn't have been completely nuts to expect to draw an extra 1,250 fans per night for home games. That would mean the net effect of the Harper deal would've been ~ $15 million/season, and that number stands a chance to look even better based on the number of playoff appearances you make with him and other unexpected revenues from things like specialty jersey sales if/when he makes All-Star teams, etc.. Adding someone like he or Machado while this team is set up to contend for the near future probably would have helped drive rents in The Battery and real estate values in the area that the organization still holds interest in as well.
Has there EVER been a statement and question a certain someone should absolutely never have made and asked publicly more than...
Kinda pathetic to see yourself as a message board knight in shining armor. How impotent does someone have to be in real life to resort to playing hero on a message board?
I think AA is more likely to pull off an “off the radar” type of trade than to be forced into one of the free agents available. In that case, there’s no rush.
And, down goes Minter.
shoulda signed Bud Norris...now we're jinxed
"I am a victim, I will tell you. I am a victim."
"I am your retribution."
So.... Keuchel and Kimbrel to the Bravos?
If Minter is seriously hurt they have to take a hard look at Kimbrel.
In my opinion, spending a lot of money on Kimbrel made more sense BEFORE all these injuries.
This is insane. Our training staff legit must just suck
Realmuto with a bomb today for the Phils.
