This is why we've been so cheap!!! We want all the Dodger's prospects. Keibert Ruiz come to papa (I have no idea if he is involved lol)

Got it . . . That option language wasn't sinking in. Looking at it again, Pollock will get $55m from the Dodgers over 4 years if he chooses to decline the player option because he feels he can make more than $5m in 2023 on the open market (even by resigning with the Dodgers for more). If he feels he can't command more than $5m in 2023, he'll accept the option to make the deal 5 / $60m. So it seems like the best case outcome for LAD is that Pollock is healthy and productive at the end of the 4 years and goes the 4 / $55m route.

last move this off-season will be for a reliever, someone like Ryan Madson or Bud Norris

This deal really makes the Phillies deal with Cutch look bad in my opinion.

The injury history of Brantly and Pollick must have really greatly devalued both players in the Braves eyes.

Yeah, that deal is looking a little worse. The leader in the clubhouse though for worst FA deal of the offseason: The age 30-35 seasons of Patrick Corbin for 6 / $140m + draft pick.

Yes that is the worst contract. What makes it especially bad is how it is back loaded. The Max, Stras, and Corbin contracts will insure that once the Nats window closes it will stay closed for a while.

With the way the market has played out, it wouldn't surprise me to see us sign someone like Marwin if the price on him has depreciated as much as I think it has. It also wouldn't surprise me if we added a mid tier bullpen arm.

But like you said it will all be about the value proposition.

Marwin would be a huge boost to the team. He would be an insurance policy for several guys in case they get hurt or under perform.

Braves Trade Newk, Ender, Wentz, Julio and a filler for Kluber...

    Sign Harper

Trade Anderson, Flowers and Wilson for JTR

Encheff’s favorite, Big Ben, said on another message board that the Braves and Keuchel are having “serious dialogue.” It’s not reported nationally but that he’s heard it from some of DK’s people. Take that for what it’s worth, just wanted to pass along.

Let’s say he could be right and we did somehow get DK, does that lineup up a trade of Newcomb?

Put me down on the side of not wanting to over spend for Dallas. He is not TOR pitcher and will most likely command too much. Doesn’t he have a QO attached.
