I don't disagree. I don't want Chatwood. I want Happ. If Chatwood is the medicine that I have to take to get Happ at the price I showed earlier, then I would do it. Let's face it, the Braves ALWAYS have some veteran guy at the back end. The variable is price and outcome. I would rather have Chatwood for 2 years plus Happ than a guy like Gio Gonzalez for 2/$24M

Gausman got threw his live BP without problem, Swanson plans to play tomorrow, Sam Freeman continues to not suck when he actually is able to rest and Donaldson is slated to play Wednesday. WHAT IS THIS POSITIVITY?

Ensheff's boy Big Ben posted this about the Braves' offseason on another board:

"They have been aggressive. The prices haven't been right. Just because the front office actually keeps things in house instead of flapping completely to the media means stuff doesn't get out. Guys want access, they keep information under wraps until the team is ready for it to be public. I can speak to a number of excellent targets they've made this offseason that didn't work out with trade offers that would have pissed off all of Braves Twitter (and likely this board). Alas, even their huge offers were not accepted, and the team chose to come back again to that deal at another time. One of them likely isn't going to happen now based on things changing with the team, but multiple were made with teams that could be selling in 2019 and likely selling the pieces the Braves discussed and laid groundwork on this offseason."

Sam Freeman is gonna have a yuge season. YUGE. Part of the reason is that he is going to have some help from other lefties in the pen--Venters, Biddle, probably some others over the course of the season. So Snit shouldn't have to overwork anyone.

Looks like the Braves left 25 on base in today’s game with the Astros.

Funny, Blanco has a better shot than Kazmar no matter the results. But both are long shots, if you can even say Kazmar has a shot (probably take multiple injuries at short at least). I see Duvall went 1-2 with a BB today after his 2 homer game. That's good to see.

So the Braves run a tight ship, yet they leak to Fat Ben? Who listens to this guy anymore? He is the guy who claimed Randy Ventura was a better prospect than Drew Waters for crying out loud...

Having said that, is anyone still holding out hope for a Haniger acquisition? I am just because there's little else to hope for at the moment.

Comparing a potential Haniger package to the Eaton package (Giolito, Lopez, Dunning...all RHP), a package would have to be something like:

    Pache or Riley
    plus
    Wright or Anderson
    plus
    Wentz or Wilson

A steep price to be sure.

Are the Braves willing to give up that much talent? Are the injuries to Gohara, Soroka, Folty and Gaus making them hesitant to trade any MLB-ready pitching?

It's for sure hard to get info from the Braves, AA's people dont leak a thing.

I wouldnt be surprised if they made alot of calls, moves about trades but were turned down. Who those players were is anyones guess.

Yep. Still the best fit of anyone that should be available. We need the Mariners to faceplant early so they make him available.
    Go get him!

Haniger is the ideal fit but will the M's sell him? That is the million dollar question.

I'd probably do that deal, but is he even available is a better ?

Has anyone seen an update on Gohara? I’m assuming he hasn’t started throwing again yet.

Please explain the 25 in the box score. https://www.mlb.com/gameday/astros-v...ox,game=567145

25 would seem to be a record for a nine-inning game.
