It'd be worth it. Four of his last five seasons his ERA has been under 3.5 (one was 3.63) and he typically hovers around 180 IP. Dude is legit.

Ender would be a great trade chip in this instance.

I'd have no issue moving Ender but Ender alone isnt getting Carrasco and Kipnis i guess.

Trading away 3 years of a 32 year old Kluber seems like the most logical way to refresh the team with young talent. Carrasco even more so.

A surplus value in the range of $100M with limited downside due to the option years could get them a nice package of young assets. Those young assets would have to be MLB-ready. I hope the Braves aren't the team who pays that price. I bet the Yankees are the team most strongly connected to Kluber/Carrasco.

Yan Gomes is the interesting name mentioned as far as I'm concerned. Good pitch framer, adequate bat, controlled for 3 more seasons at less than what Ramos is likely to command. I expect the Braves to be connected to Gomes all off season in exchange for a young arm.

Yankees have been connected to Corbin for awhile but depending on cost, Kluber or Carrasco would be a good fit as well, they need SP badly.

I also suspect we will have to read hundreds of comments about the Braves going after Carrasco and Kluber...just like we did about every other available TOR arm over the last 5 years.

I hope we stay away from Brantley. I’m not a fan of his injury history and hope we set our sights a little higher.

Gabe Burns of AJC said this on twitter: Could absolutely see Braves going for Kluber. Checks the right boxes. Contract $/length is a notable plus. It'd be costly but as far as realistic options there won't be much better.

FTR, i dont think we go for him but depending on cost, Kluber would be a great move.

This is literally what everyone said about every available TOR arm for the last 5 years...Price, Greinke, Lester, Sale, Archer, and on and on and on.

Every single time a TOR pitcher becomes available, everyone says exactly the same thing about the Braves acquiring him. Then the Braves never acquire the TOR arm everyone spent months blabbering about.

It almost never works out well for the team acquiring the TOR arm. Now suddenly folks think things are going to work out differently than they have worked out almost every single time in recent memory. It's truly mind boggling.

I do agree with you, but it's hard not to get a chubby thinking of Kluber or Carrasco even if it is very probably a bad idea considering the cost. I guess the one thing different than the past couple years with the rumors is that we are actually in compete mode. The only way it truly makes sense though is if we can also legit upgrade LF, C, infield, and the bullpen. I don't see how we do that and also add one of those guys

I'd take Kipnis off their hands if the Indians are looking to slash payroll. He would make a great LH bench /platoon partner. Wonder if they'd be into a JT for Kipnis swap?

In fairness, the Braves were rebuilding in all those times except Archer.

But i'm not sure the Braves can trade for Kluber while filling other needs (starting C, corner OF'er, bullpen, and bench) unless Bowman is right and we have more money to use than anticipated.

I've always liked Kipnis... I'd be open to exploring a Kipnis/Gomes trade for the right price

Ryu gets a QO from LA, i could see him accept it honestly.

That puts Kimbrel, Ryu, Grandal, Corbin, Pollock, and Harper as QO's so far, assuming Bryce gets one.

    Here is my 2018-2019 offseason

Trade Inciarte, Allard, Wilson and Cruz for Marte and Cervelii

Trade Newcomb, Mueller, and Ynoa, for Paxton

Trade Teheran to A’s for Lou Trivino- Okland will need some rotation help after losing Sean Manaea and Julio can give them a reliable 200 IP for relatively low cost in terms of money.

Sign Michael Brrantley (3 year $48M + Club Option for 2022 at $15M -or- $1.5M buyout)
Sign Josh Donaldson to a 1yr $18.5M plus incentives
Sign one of Lonnie Chisinhall/Lucas Duda/Matt Adams (around $4-6M)
Resign Animal Sanchez to a 1yr $5.5M with club option for 2020

    LINEUP:

    Starling Marte- RF
    Michael Brantley- LF
    Ronald Acuna Jr.- CF
    Freddie Freeman- 1B
    Josh Donaldson- 3B
    Francisco Cervelii- C
    Ozzie Albies- 2B
    Dansby Swanson- SS

    BENCH:

    Tyler Flowers- C
    Johan Camargo- 3B/SS/2B/LF/RF
    Charlie Culberson- SS/2B/3B/OF
    Lonnie Chisinhall/Lucas Duda/Matt Adams- 1B/OF

    ROTATION:

    Mike Foltynewicz
    James Paxton
    Kevin Gausman
    Touki Toussaint
    Anibal Sanchez

    BULLPEN:

    RHP- Vizcaino
    LHP- Minter
    RHP- Familia
    RHP- O’Day
    LHP- Venters
    LHP- Biddle
    RHP- Trivino
    Fried/Carle/Gohara

Again just me playing GM but I honestly feel like these moves are somewhat feasible although some trades may have to be adjusted if I valued some wrong. If I did my calculations correct we should only be adding around $46 million and that number can be lowered if we didn't resign Anibal and went with Fried/Gohara/Wright.

You've basically just overhauled the whole team... I guarantee you won't see 4 of 8 regular lineup slots changed...
