I understand the analytics used to form that opinion on Camargo, but I think it's far too early in his career to say that he can't when he already has.

Passing over Josh Donaldson over that chance, when you can still give Camargo a ton of at bats all over the field would not have made sense.
I've said this multiple times, but I thought Camargo really played his best when he had a full time role. I worry about that his jerking around will make a lot of people say "i told you so" at the end of the season, when really it's impossible to measure how a super utility role will affect his performance.

Anyway, may be a moot point since our manager doesn't even want JD riding on a bus for a couple hours right now.

Muk would be a cheap place holder. I could see them keeping Muk and trading Ender. You don’t put a 80 grade center fielder in right field. That option is insurance in case one of the guys are not ready.
Where do you think Andruw played when the Braves had Lofton in 97?

I just don't expect Camargo to continue to hit that well against righties which will bring his value down quite a bit.

So bringing in a guy like Tomlin for that role is perfectly reasonable.
Agreed. Tomlin allows the Braves to avoid using a young guy as the long man who should be getting consistent innings starting in AAA.

It does when the team is in a dog fight with 3 other teams for the division. The Braves aren't the Dodgers or Astros or Indians who are so much better than the rest of their division that they can sit around and wait for things to sort themselves out. Every single win is going to matter this year.

Going into the season with this OF mix was a mistake everyone saw coming from day 1 of the off season, and if it costs them 1-2 wins before the trade deadline it could be the reason they miss the playoffs.

There is simply no way to justify starting the season with the current OF options. It was a complete failure by the FO.

Still think Soler is pretty intriguing, even if as a platoon-mate for Markakis - if the price was right, of course.

Has there EVER been a statement and question a certain someone should absolutely never have made and asked publicly more than...

Kinda pathetic to see yourself as a message board knight in shining armor. How impotent does someone have to be in real life to resort to playing hero on a message board?

It's not impossible at all. Try doing a bit of research on the topic.

Just because a sales engineer can't understand it doesn't mean it's impossible.

He is a very good trade option for a 4th OFer. I think you've just identified my new favorite target for AA.

I have always liked jorge as an option for the Braves. Wonder what it would take. Maybe throw Newk at them to get a bit more back. Newk seems like an over pay straight up.

There's generally less available at the start of the season. Teams see little point in trading their major leaguers. They can wait a bit, see if they comepete, then if they don't they can trade closer to the deadline at the same or even higher value.

We could probably get a mediocre 4th OF but anything more might be hard to come by without massively overpaying.

This was not the start Wright was looking for trying to make the team

I like Soler as well. Dude has big power if he could tap it.

Yikes. The outlook is not looking good. Going into this season with this rotation and bullpen is unacceptable. AA failed this offseason.

Was listening to royals broadcast and they think the strike zone has rattled him. The first walk after the k was on a 3-2 pitch that the broadcast team said was a strike. No excuses since things like that happen and it shouldn’t affect you. But it looks like it did to wright.

Hoping that debt we paid for can pitch a few innings too.

    Dufail with another ground out.

Just when we think the rotation picture was getting a little more clear...boom

I hope it was a clunker or tired arm at the end of ST and not an injury.
