Mish- Update : Padres making a late charge for Realmuto. Braves & Marlins staring each other down hoping the other blinks. LA & CIN remain very in. The final chapter of the saga is upon us.

If this bull**** ends in the next 36 hours, I honestly don't care where Realmuto ends up, I'll be glad its over.

The Padres have 10 top 100 prospects and can easily afford to give a better package to Atlanta. I just don't see how it makes sense....they are not going to be competitive in the NL west over the next 2 years...I guess they feel they can re-sign him.

JTR in Atlanta would probably put up better numbers than in San Diego...that is a very pitcher friendly park.

Based on his comment, my guess is AA has made an offer that includes Riley, and 2 prospects not named Ian Anderson, telling Miami that is his best offer.

I actually think they've made some changes at Petco that have made it play more neutrally. It was 13th in Runs Park Factor in 2018. I'm not sure exactly what they've done though

Then we will get more promises about increasing payroll and how we are in on trades just to see low risk bull**** moves to appease the fans with promise of prospects gaining value again. More scared talk of value and how he didn’t want to just give guys away. All the while we piss away control of guys that can help us win.

This is the same team that just signed Hosmer to an 8/144 deal after hiring Dave Cameron from FG who was adamantly against the contract.

They are not the smartest organization out there.

Maybe that is what AA is dealing with.
I don't see Riley's K problems going anywhere. Would rather deal him now than risk his value another year.

These types of deals are perfectly acceptable for Keuchel, though I hope the Braves don't beat the 3 year deal by Milwaukee.

The 4/82 prediction from MLBTR was not ok, and hopefully the Braves don't go anywhere near that.

I mean... what do we have left to work with? Kluber's deal would have to involve money going to the Indians for prospect capital for us to use the remainder of our budget for Bryce. I suppose it could happen, but it would be a complete 180 from what AA and the Braves have done to date.

We’ve all been saying ‘this week’ for weeks. I’m pretty sure this isn’t happening this week.

I do like the fact that none of the reporters seem to be able to get any details on our offers to these players.

Maybe our 3 year deal will be marginally better in AAV than that of the Brewers.

Brewers have been aggressive and smart in building reasonably priced championship caliber squad despite having produced very little of their roster internally.
