Corner outfield is probably the trickiest and most impactful area of need we have to fill this off-season. Could go in any number of directions.

Catcher I think we would be making a mistake pursuing Grandal or Realmuto, unless something weird happened to price.

    ....

If we add Bryce Harper in RF we still won't win a damn playoff series because of our pitching.

corner OF and C are our biggest offensive needs, followed by bullpen, then maybe they look at SP, but given the depth the Braves have in the farm with SP i seriously doubt they go for SP.

I wouldnt be opposed to going for Bumgarner depending on the price.

You can pretty much count out Realmuto now. I always go with the opposite of what it said.

When Bowman said that anyone not named Acuna or Wright could be traded, I saw that as Wright will be one of the pitching prospects traded. It was kind of random to throw his name in the untouchable Acuna territory.

I've thought about Bumgarner if we sign a guy like Grandal. We'd lose a pick signing a player that gets a QO this year, but if we traded for a guy like Bum and offered him a QO we could get our pick back.

Sure we have a lot of depth, but we don't have any TOR arms ready for primetime. Folty is as close as we have and he clearly wasn't that close against the Dodgers.

Folty looked great his second start... he was taken out early though...

TOR pitching is definitely a luxury and not even close to our biggest need

Folty did fine in his 2nd start vs them, and he dominated Boston twice this year.

Our hitting was a much bigger problem vs LA than pitching was, although both were at fault. Scored 0, 0, 6, and 2 runs in 4 games. The offense needs to add two key bats this winter and improve the bench. corner OF and catcher being the most needed.

Given our international lack of spending, i dont see AA giving up a pick we'll need. Two 1's, and a 2 would help hurt some of the prospects that may get dealt away this winter.

What’s everyone’s guess as to picking up a starter? Do you believe we will sign or trade for one? I would rather sign someone like Corbin than to trade away kids for, say, Greinke or Bumgarner.

Well, we have the following pitchers for 5 spots.

Julio/Anibal, Newk, Folty, Gaus, Soroka, Touki, Wright, Gohara, and Wilson.

I could see a trade with a pitcher having say 1 year left on their deal but nothing beyond that.

Anibal is a FA, and I am perfectly happy not picking up a pitcher. My fear is that we will do something like Soroka/Riley for Grienke. I would rather do something like sign Bryce, Lucroy and a couple of relievers and call it a day but that’s just my wish.

If we did Soroka/Riley, it would probably be for Realmuto.

I wouldn't touch Corbin... career year at 29 with an average FB velocity barely over 90 mph and likely to get a huge deal... no thanks

I don't think we will. If we do it won't be a ToR guy like that.

If we do trade for a starter I think Stroman and Jon Gray could be a couple of buy low candidates.

In that scenario it would mean we've traded Newcomb for a hitter and possibly Julio in a AA special of trading contracts

Holy crap dude. Don't even speak a trade like that into existence. The only reason we would do Soroka/Riley for Greinke is because we felt bad for robbing Dave Stewart all those years ago.
