    Went under the knife yesterday

Had a discectomy done on my lower disc on my left side. Basically surgeon went in and removed bone fragments and other damaged pieces of that disc. In quite a bit of pain right now and have some medicine, does not have a refill and hope to only lose it before bed. Not gonna lie. It was a simple procedure, but it’s sucks right now.

The end goal is to hopefully fix my sciatic issues that have been anguishing me for years. Hopefully once I am recovered I can slowly begin to exercise and get back into a shape that isn’t so round.

Sounds rough. Take care of yourself and ease back into it. I tried to start working out too soon after my surgery in January, 2018, and ended up having a setback. It took more patience than I had. I hope you are a more patient patient. But take care.

Get well soon. When you hurt in your sciatic area it's a bitch like waking up in the middle of the night with the worst of leg cramps but constantly hurting in your back. Take it easy and let the surgery help you!

You know the definition of a "minor surgery" right? That's the one somebody else has. Take care and look into one of those inversion tables when you get better from the surgery itself (if the doctor is OK with it). Having a bad L-5 myself I can testify how bad back problems can be. For some reason hanging upside down really does help, but again this is after the effects of the surgery itself has passed.

I hope everything works out well for you.
