Has there EVER been a statement and question a certain someone should absolutely never have made and asked publicly more than...

Kinda pathetic to see yourself as a message board knight in shining armor. How impotent does someone have to be in real life to resort to playing hero on a message board?

AA's main challenge is to not screw things up. We need a GM with a light touch, because the pipeline has already generated the stars and what the Braves will mostly need are complementary players. To try to acquire a star via trade or free agency would be a folly the way things are set up.

It will be an interesting winter. Braves have some money to spend and it's time to cash in some of the prospects to help out the MLB team. AA can do alot, and it will be interesting, no excuses to have a couple more big additions this winter.

The division is primed for another long division streak for us again. Phillies ****ed themselves by trying to win too early and the Nationals window is closing and their denial is going to ensure they are nothing more than mediocre for a long time. The Mets... lol. We might not win 15 straight titles or 3 world series like we did in the streak but good times acomin.

Nats even without Harper have Zimmerman, Turner, Rendon, Soto, and Robles, Eaton with Stras, Scherzer, Roark, and plenty money to spend. Depends what they do this winter but i wouldnt rule them out.

I agree. No reason to try to get a big bat or TOR starter.

I'm not sure I agree that the pipeline has delivered or will deliver all of the necessary stars.

What we can create this off-season at reasonable cost and minimum long-term financial risk is a really deep lineup, bench and bullpen. The foundational parts of the team are already there. Freeman, Acuna, Albies. We might even have an ace in Folty, who I think is still learning and improving.

The foundation is in the majors already: Freeman, Acuna, Albies.

Folty is still improving and barring injury going to be one of the best starting pitchers in the NL the next few years. And we have some young pitchers with good upside.

Depending on cost, i wouldnt be against going for one or both of those.

We do need a big bat to hit behind Freeman. A Markakis type isn’t gonna cut it. Pollock/Peralta/Rosario and Grandal/Realmuto should be obtainable. If we can’t add any of those guys it’s a fail imo

i absolutely think we need another very legit bat in the lineup.

Well, sure, I certainly agree with that. I would take them for free, no doubt, so there is obviously a price at which I'd be ok adding them. But it's precisely because of the cost associated that I don't want to go after them. In free agency, they would take up way too much of our budget. And in a trade, they would take up too much of our prospect depth. I understand people's wariness in regard to prospects, but they are the lifeblood of the franchise, and if we want any kind of sustained long-term success with an extended window, that's going to come from the farm.

I would be more ok with a trade than a free agent signing, but it's still almost certainly going to cost more than I'd be willing to spend. It might increase our chances in the short-term slightly, but it would likely significantly affect the length of our window.

I am totally fine adding any of these except Realmuto because of the cost. And Peralta/Rosario might cost too much as well, we'd have take advantage of a GM who doesn't fully understand their value.

I think Albies needs to prove he can adjust to pitchers before he can be considered a star or part of the foundation. That was a loooong slump we watched after his torrid start.

He's the least of the worries...but I acknowledge he has to be stronger through a long season.

Albies is going to be more than fine. 4 WAR player at 21 and this in a season where he was just average offensively. I think we all know he will be better than that.
