    Swanson's wrist

Think any of his offensive woes could've been tied to his wrist? Maybe (definetely wishing on a star here) this surgery really helps Swanson step it up a notch next season. Swanson started great last season, but then started tailing off about the same time his wrist became an issue. Hopefully surgery keeps this from popping up again.
    Swanson sucks

I honestly think he's a better offensive player than we see but he'll never live up to the billing. The guy is a great defensive player who can get big hits when it matters. It's just who he is, and honestly, that's fine as long as we build around his flaws.

If Swanson can play good defense and have a .700-.750 OPS, then he will be a very very valuable player. He doesn't have to be an amazing hitter. Just an average one.

Hopefully the high "character" grades will lead to him putting in the work this offseason to become a better hitter.

Of course the wrist could have been a big issue the past 2 seasons... and it has been brought up a ton of times on this board as a possibility

I realize that, but I guess what I'm asking is could surgery repair the wrist to where it isn't an issue again. Was the injury in September bc the wrist was already weak? I guess I'm hoping that Swanson's offensive issues were bc of weakened wrist that surgery repaired for good

Not saying he's going to walk more than strikeout but hitting 8th would seem to effect this I'd imagine.

Not an easy place to hit at all. Might even be the toughest spot to hit on NL team.

I know something that'll strengthen his wrist up real good. As long as he doesn't run out of it like I did.

My sources say this was what caused it to start with

Something tells me that would be overkill for Dansbae.

Batting 8th increases your walk rate.
"Acuna is getting lucky, just like CJ did when he batted .321 and won a batting title. He is unlikely to get lucky at the MLB level over an extended period of time. He will settle in around .300-.320 just like everyone else, and when he does, he won't be within shouting distance of the 1.000 OPS he is posting in AAA...more like low .700s in 2018." -Enscheff 8/25/17
