Wait, you can have two gold glove winners at the same position?

And Swanson not even being a finalist and Markakis winning anything proves how useless this award is.

Nick had a good defensive season as far as fielding percentage and outfield assists. So the lazy state show he was a good defender. But reality tells us that everyone ran on his arm and he was pretty much a statue.

I think FF is a very good 1st baseman. He saves a lot of errors by the eye test.

Markakis winning the Gold Glove has got to be the funniest award mistake I've seen in a while. Do these voters just not GAF at all? Do they just throw wads of gum and a baseball prospectus and whoever it hits wins?

Very funny that the Rawlings Gold Glove winners won't be announced until Nov 6th which is tomorrow. Where did this list come from??

Not sure what dates you have. But MLB has an article about the Rawlings winners last night.

Congrats to Markakis. Not necessarily the most technically sound defender, but his great closing speed and elite arm strength got him the award. And to think we didn't offer him a QO despite his defense being this good. Had he only won the award before QO's had to be issued.
    thank you weso1!

Certainly there were more deserving players, but Nick had a pretty nice season defensively. He was not a statue as some say.

At some point in the season, Markakis credited positioning analysis for helping improve his defensive performance. He doesn't have much margin for error, but he catches what he gets to and as some have said, he's not the statue that some contend he is.

DOB just posted winners from Braves-- same as listed above. Congrats to all, especially Freddie who is finally recognized by National people as we have known for several years.

Funnier than him winning a silver slugger?

Swanson didnt hit enough to win the award.... not even joking. You have to be absurdly good to win without hitting well like Andrelton was.

Its funny that we have little interest in a guy who won a gold glove, silver slugger, and made the all star team last year. Shows how meaningless those awards are.
