And according to mlb.com, that's about where Philip was slated to go.

Wasn’t Dana Brown hired as an interim guy, and then we would hire a new scouting director after this draft? I could’ve sworn I read that.

AAAA pitcher. I hope he doesn't pick AAAA players.

So the Braves just confirmed that they used the 21st pick to get a guy who profiles as a defensive sub/utility infielder. Holy **** I am extremely pissed. How can this happen. are we that poor?

If you want a shortstop, I'm not sure why you don't take Lugo there. I'm curious what kind of analytics are suggesting that college hitters are preferable to high schoolers.
    Go get him!

ha...well the folks who scout were not generally major league allstars...but if you want to hold that against Cody be my guest

that's the thing...these lists from BA and FG are ok for the first round but after that the divergence of opinions gets big very fast...I'm not sure this is a case of analytics favoring the college guys

At this point, I really just want to take Samson Abernathy. Just so we can have that meme.

Yeah personally I would have gone with Samson Abernathy at 60, but Fineas Del-Bonta Smith is a fine selection as well. Wait, I mean Beau Philip. Sorry, its easy to mix these sub-200 ranked kids up.

serious contrariness there. I am impressed.

That’s cool but taking a second round talent in the second round would also have been a way to go.

That’s exactly what I was thinking. This is the bench depth draft.

This will be the last year we have high picks also.

    Sickening.

Not so divergent on their ranking of this particular player.

Brown’s media presence hasn’t exactly gone off without a hitch tonight either
