Well now at least he can wear T-shirts and shorts while announcing batting practice

They got this half right...should have switched chip to radio as well...then have Powell and sutton call the tv games

Sutton is semi-retired at this point. I don't see him having too many more years left in him before he stops calling games all together. I think Joe is going to replace him.
Frenchy is good. Glad to see they're giving him a main role before someone else did.
I’m glad for Frenchy- he did really well last year- but unlike most, I really like Joe.
Gonna be different for sure.
Too bad, Joe is really good, even if he is a Braves homer who dislikes the state of the game. I'm guessing this is disciplinary?
A guy can only complain about the direction the FO is taking so much before he is removed as the voice of the franchise. Joe is a fool who insists on living in the past, so now he can work in the entertainment media of the past well.
Frenchy will be no better.

Joe's going to have to work on his descriptive abilities so he can paint a verbal picture of the defensive shift he's whining about.

the analytics said it was time to remove joe from the booth. he'll hate them even harder now.

I approve.
I heard Francoeur provide color commentary on the radio when driving through Atlanta last summer. I thought he did really well. He's got that puppy dog personality, but I was surprised that he chimed in with some of the up-to-date thinking that he didn't really cotton to as a player.

Would have preferred a complete overhaul and sent Chip and Joe to radio and had Powell and Paul Byrd in the tv booth.
At least Frenchy seems to actually enjoy baseball. Chip seems to play off his counterparts demeanor so hopefully he’ll be better with Frenchy.

Has there EVER been a statement and question a certain someone should absolutely never have made and asked publicly more than...
Kinda pathetic to see yourself as a message board knight in shining armor. How impotent does someone have to be in real life to resort to playing hero on a message board?

I disagree with Frenchy on quite a bit and he's just as much a dinosaur as Joe regarding analytics, but I think he'll be better. Joe really started developing that "Get Off My Lawn, Stop Skateboarding" attitude in the past couple of years. We'll still have to deal with the mocking of launch angles, but we won't be getting any more gems about the organist or Dodgers BP fashion.

I didn't understand why they chose Simpson for TV over Sutton to begin with.
I've heard Sutton on the radio here and there lately. He sounds like a really old man now. Has his health failed him? I don't mean out of touch or not cogent, he just spoke like an elderly person.

Maybe I'm in the minority here, but to me listening to Frenchy, he comes off as a dope who doesn't provide much to the broadcast. I guess i'm spoiled living here in NYC and listening to plenty of Mets broadcasts. It's a pleasure to listen to Ron Darling analyze a game.
On the other and, I actually like Chip. Yes he's a bit of buffoon, but his excitable attitude keeps me entertained.
It was definitely time for Joe to go. He clearly wore out his welcome after causing controversy multiple times this year.
