Those batteries might not be commercially practical. I disagree with the never will as I think battery tech is about to explode. But batteries losing power to cold weather is a problem.
But the argument over renewable energy in this is silly. This is a question of natural gas infrastructure.
True, but doesn't a lot of the damage that causes the battery to crap out in the cold weather come from damage done during the extreme heat (and just doesn't show up until we're freezing our arses off and are stranded somewhere?)

So getting back to Senator Ted Cruz...
Cruz took his regularly scheduled vacation which is really bad optics. He should have cancelled.
Having said that, I dont expect him to go fix the energy grid... so its all symbolic.
I say leave the Cruz family alone to enjoy their vacation. It would be something else if he were a governor or mayor. Enough tilting at windmills.

That’s perfectly ok.
Cruz should know better but his ideology is one of freedom and he made his choice for better or for worse. I think this seals the deal on him ever running for president again and winning re-election in Texas will be far more difficult than it should be.
