Someone had the bright idea to demonstrate for BLM in Harrison, Arkansas.
Needless to say there was some pushback. It seems to me this is part and parcel of free speech. You express your views in the public square and those who disagree express their disagreement.
But there was also this:
The most frightening interaction, Bliss said, was when a man in a cream-colored Camry drove by flipping him off and moments later returned to warn, “About 10 minutes, I’m gonna be back. You better be f------ gone.”
This seems to me more of an infringement of free speech. A threat or attempt to intimidate.
And also this:
As they made their way toward the town square, they were heckled while armed White men patrolled the sidewalks and stood on rooftops.
The heckling is part of free speech. But the display of firearms in this context strikes me as an attempt to undermine free speech.
Free speech is an important topic and deserving of a nuanced discussion.

You alright fella?
A public place like the area around the White House seems like fair game. But going to a private residence to protest has an element of bullying and intimidation. And displaying firearms while doing so takes it very far away from the spirit of exercising first amendment rights.

Speaking of Chad Wolf. Why is he acting DHS for 9 months now when Republicans control the Senate and have been rubber stamping anyone Trump nominates? Are they really that scared to let Democrats question him under oath? Pretty sure he has testified before Congress as acting DHS so not sure how that could be it.

I thought the free speech guy would be up in arms about a president using executive order to ban a website/app
Free speech is usually under attack. Most people can't stand to have others disagree with them. They feel it's an attack and lash out at the source of the perceived attack.
