There hasn't been a month since Louis Farakhan was banned --- we won't know the effects until November when the off-off year elections take place.
Perhaps a city councilman somewhere or a supervisor of parks and rec somewhere else
    .................................

Every time I see the header for this conversation I wonder, when hasn't free speech been under attack and if it hadn't been such the writers would have seen no need for a 1st amendment.

Surely someone will tell us how banning non-liberal groupthink speech is healthy for a society who values free speech.

    Anyone?

I imagine Trump is going to go all out on Facebook in the very near future. He’s going to have a field day with Facebooks Multi-billion dollar fine.

These same people are the ones passing laws denying government contracts unless you agree not to boycott Israel.

My understanding with facebook and social media is that they can either be a platform or a publisher. If they are a publisher then they are liable for what is posted. If they are just a platform then they have to treat everyone equally in terms of the rules. Which they are not.

This isnt just being done to conservatives. Its being done to people for having a non mainstream opinion. I can rail against religions all day long but it wont be until I say something about Islam(probably Jewish too) that I would get banned. Some of the cop block groups have been shut down as well.

I know its not exactly first amendment but people have been forcefully censoring people since the country was founded. Abolistionists were lynched for saying slavery was wrong. There are a ton of cases where atheists are run out of town for not subscribing to the local cult.

Facebook is an American company. What legal obligation do they have to not "interfere". You could claim its a campaign contribution but you could also make that claim about the 2 billion in free coverage he got by the media during the election. I am glad to hear your upset about this though. How about a law against knowingly publishing fake news to influence voting? It would be very helpful in the fight for legalization.

Half of this country does not value free speech partially because they were deliberately taught in such a way where they don't understand the concept.

There is no humor allowed by the left because humor is inherently offensive.

So, facebook is a publicly traded corporation. Their main job is to generate revenue for their shareholders, any action they take is done in the manner which will give them the money.

So they are "Lol...american corporation." because they're a corporation, specifically a publicly held LLC.

If this is happening because he's representing a horrible person, Harvard should have their accreditation pulled. There's no justice if you're denied representation.

I agree with striker about the integrity of the system resting on the ability to receive adequate counsel, and I think that, considering the whole picture, the “if” is doing a lot of work here.

I haven't looked into the situation enough to know all that's going on. I'm just a very big proponent of representation in criminal cases.
