nimbyism is the main reason people are leaving california

people who have already secured their place in paradise are not interested in sharing it

so there are these restrictions on development, especially in the coastal cities...inland california is another matter...it is not really california

the restrictions on development in the coastal areas basically force people out

it is a classical case of insiders working against outsiders...the folks in Marin County (and I am only picking on them because they are the easiest to caricature) have their house and hot tub...they are not interested in making room for anyone else

to understand Northern California read Philip Dick's Confessions of a Crap Artist...it was published in the 1970s but it perfectly captures the northern californian ethos

to understand Oakland in particular, he has another novel titled Humpty Dumpty in Oakland

Although Philip Dick is known mainly for sci-fi, I think his mainstream novels are unparalleled for capturing life in northern California a few decades ago and still relevant for understanding the mindset there

No because the funding liberal idiots impose awful laws that any free market thinking person could have warned would have disastrous results.

Now they have killed a huge employer in their state and a huge mode of transportation for its citizens in their never ending quest of economic justice.

So now those uber employees can start draining from the bankruptcy welfare from the state.

    Great work!

Curious why you think so. It doesn't seem most left states associate their politics with the crime increases.

    Minnesota was close in 2016.

They got crushed during the riots.

They have a high percentage of white people in relation to the country makeup.

Who had on their bingo card the Obama Family doing the dirty work at the Convention ?
    /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

I give Biden an A for scheming out this convention.

He and Kamala walk away with not a trace of Blood on their cloths

If this is his organizational skill-set, I am far more optimistic than a week ago

Is this your first election? Wtf runs for office saying everything is great. Trumps whole 2016 campaign message was that America was ****.

    https://news.gallup.com/poll/317474/...president.aspx

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- As both political parties prepare for their conventions, one in four Americans do not think either of the major-party presidential candidates would be a good president. At the same time, roughly equal percentages say only Joe Biden (36%) or only Donald Trump (33%) would make a good president, while 5% say both candidates would.

Similar percentages of Democrats (75%) and Republicans (79%) think only their candidate is suitable, while a 37% plurality of independents do not think either would be a good candidate and nearly equal percentages say only Biden or only Trump would be.

These readings, from a July 30-Aug. 12 poll, mark the fourth U.S. presidential election of the five that have occurred since 2004 for which Gallup has asked this question. The current percentage saying neither candidate would make a good president is the highest on record.

    Tough to argue here...

But remember, you can't vote third party or else you'd be supporting someone who is not qualified!

Ranked choice voting would fix a lot of that problem. Really want to vote for Jorgenson but unfortunately I have to choose between dumb and dumber. Also unfortunate that both Republicans and Democrats will never let that happen. Whatever it takes to keep power. Doesnt really feel like we have a Democracy when both parties nominate such scumbags that I have to vote for the lesser of two evils instead of an actually intelligent and qualified person.

I have to say Billie Eilish being for something makes me want to be against it. She's the poster child of everything wrong with Gen Z.

I get this is a common and easy criticism... but those cities have leaders who right now are standing down to this violence.

    Those leaders are Dems.

When Trump tried to intervene, those leaders demanded he leave.

The violence has not stopped since

Billie Eilish has a song where she says she's a bad guy. She has it wrong, she's not a bad guy, she's a bad singer.
