What we have now isn't a war on drugs it's a war on drug addicts.

But how does being illegal stop them?

In theory yes, in practice no.

why are heroin and acid even lumped together?
the most dangerous thing about heroin is it being illegal. since it isn't regulated in some way, people have been buying unpure heroin cause dealers are trying to step on their product and adding really unsafe things in it
world would be better if more did or had at least tried acid and mushrooms

Illinois makes it official. Start date is January 1st 2020. I wonder why the cops who said they cant keep people safe if this passed arent asked to resign? They publicly announced they cant do their job anymore as of January.

A record 27 state legislatures have discussed legalization of marijuana in 2019. Even Iowa, Tennessee and Virgina discussed it and both houses are controlled by Republicans. 62% of registered voters and 2/3rds of independents support legalization.

I smell weed, prepare thy anus. Watch this cop sexually assault a man because he smells weed. Saddest part about all this is after sexually assaulting this man for nearly 30 minutes they give him a ticket for tailgating. America, home of the free, unless we smell weed.... then government agents get to feel up your genitals and stick their finger up your ass. Do that to anyone else and its rape, done to you by someone with a shiny badge and its perfectly fine.

I was an opiod addict for a couple of years in my early 20s. Been clean for almost a decade now. It was incredibly easy to get my hands on what I wanted, it was just really expensive. You know what happened when I didn't have the money for it? I got incredibly sick. Like, sicker than you've likely ever been in your life. So sick that it borders on some natural form of torture. There is really nothing like withdrawing from a drug that you're dependent on. With some drugs, it can be so painful and miserable that it borders on a spiritual experience. Its like Satan himself is squeezing your soul and the only way to make him let go is to find another pill. Making it harder for addicts to find their fix is actually counterproductive. It drives up the street price of the drug and usually leaves the addict in a financial situation where they couldn't get help even if they wanted it.
Luckily, I woke up withdrawing one day and decided to get on a Buprenorphine program. It was more expensive than the actual habit, but it was worth every penny. But I was really lucky to have the means to fix the issue that I had created for myself. I was also lucky in the fact that I never got caught with 60 illicit Lortabs in my car by the police and gotten charged with a crime.
If it were up to me, the drugs would legalized and some sort of incentives should be offered to rehab facilities and pharma companies who are able to lower their prices for medications designed to treat drug problems.

Jerry Nadler, chairman of the house judiciary committee, and Kamala Harris filed legislation to end federal marijuana prohibition. This bill is the first one that actually has a chance to see the light of day. If this comes up for a vote it will be a historic moment no matter the outcome. T is a good chance it passes the House which will make for a very interesting situation going into an election year. Trumps just the sort of unpredictable populist that could pull the rug out from Democrats if he realizes how popular the move would be. I know his campaign is going to be looking at polls and marijuana legalization is redonkulously popular with people under 50. The anti-marijuana people are already strongly in Trumps corner.

Alcohol income via taxes is a lot
Won't be that much for MJ
And a lot of people will skirt alcohol for MJ provided that their workplace allow them to test for MJ like they do alcohol.
I don't see a problem with them legalizing it.
I never done it nor ever will, but I have family and friends hit blunts all the time and when they hand it to me, I just say "pass".
