    Updates:

    Soroka doing long toss.

Gohara has thrown two bullpens and will throw live BP today. Expected to pitch in a game soon.

Gausman threw live BP on Monday and felt good. Expected to pitch Friday.

Max Fried. Pinkie has been amputated. Will no longer be a problem.

Folty. Not talking to reporters. Maturity bigger issue than chips in elbow.

I hear "financial flexibility" is in the best shape of his life and touching 97. I can't wait to see him pitch and get some data on him. Glad we got him!

You are confusing financial flexibility for Kyle Wright. Easy to do. They look alike.

I guess he won't be throwing the palm ball or circle change.

Still not as big a challenge as 19th century great and Hall of Famer "Three-Finger" Mordecai Brown faced, as noted in picture below.

The Braves did have a pitcher not so long ago who lost part of a finger on his throwing hand in a farming accident. Wickham?

You are correct sir. I totally forgot that Wickman was missing part of his right index finger. I don't know if it was the tip of his finger or if it went all the way down to the top knuckle. Wickman credited the missing part of his finger to the impressive action he got on his sinker.

I had to check to make sure that Fried actually did not actually have his finger amputated. I'll admit it.

I was pretty sure he hadn't, but I did check. Sighing at myself.

A lighter hand increases arm speed and adds 1-2 mph to the fastball.

287 is not bad for wins, but seriously, he is top 5 in nastiest breaking pitches ever. You swore that knees buckled or batters ducked when he threw it and when they do that, that is filthy territory.

Has anyone looked at Blyleven stats, that is unheard of in todays pitching?
