And even better defensively without Harper in the OF. If Robles hits as expected their lineup will be unreal.

It’s hard to judge pitches on tv that aren’t obviously standout. Fried’s curve qualifies as such a pitch.

Eye test suggested he didn’t have any idea where the change was going though.

Fried has good stuff. But like another lefty starter on the staff he doesn't have a great track record as far as control goes and is at an age where significant improvement may be unrealistic.

I'd agree. He's lost a year and some change due to injury, but I'd hold out hope against hope it improves this year. I like he has nice velo from the left side and that curve is a hammer. The tools are there.

Fried’s flat fastball is nothing compared to Newk’s lively fastball. It’s a tick slower with 3” less rise.

I still peg Fried in the Mike Montgomery role.

I see Newk as an Oliver Perez type.

Hope you’re right. If Acuña wins the mvp. Braves will win the division.

If he wins the MVP I would offer him a 13/350 extension immediately.

We have to let these young guys sink or swim. Let Fried start the year in the rotation and just see where it goes. Give him a long leash
