    3/23 GDT Mets

When will Albies figure out how to stop hitting so many weak FBs as a LHH? To me, that’s the #1 issue he has to fix to become the player we all hope he can be.

I haven’t looked at any data on Tomlin, but the eye test tells me he’s 89-91 with the FA, has a downer curve at 77-78, and something around 85 that appears to be a splitter or hard change.

Overall he looks like a back end starter or long man...which is exactly what they picked him up to be.

Seeks like a fairly poor choice for the role.

Anyone wondering what a TOR starter looks like should be watching deGrom right now. They will realize the Braves don’t have anything even resembling it in the entire system and can stop throwing that term around when discussing Braves prospects.

    You're most likely right, but here's degrom's k9 in milb... 7.4 (267 k in 323.1 ip)

DeGrom is not the guy Duvall wants to be facing with his roster spot on the line.

Where’s Brandon Guyer, and why doesn’t he have a Braves jersey yet?

Right. So all the Braves need to do is find a college SS/Closer who needs TJ early in his pro career.

I’m talking about TOR stuff, not the atypical path DeGrom took to MLB that led to lackluster MiLB numbers.

Guyer will be a giant. FF won’t see the value in him.

Just meant degrom didn't look much like an ace in the minors

Touki in to throw the 4th, gets hit on right foot by liner off Rosario's bat, then a 2B pick off error by Touki.

And a quick review of his career path explains why.

What Braves prospect has a similar set of circumstances that explains why he doesn’t look the part right now?

Seems to me Touki is ticketed for the BP or AAA to start the season.

I wonder if Newk lost his spot too and the opening day 4 man rotation is going to be Julio, Wright, Wilson and Fried.

Guess they are trying to see who goes and who stays on the roster because the pitchers are getting lit up today by the Mets.

To be fair, deGrom is the best of the best right now, not just a TOR starter.

I don't know, I think the Braves have a few guys who have stuff that has the upside of a ToR arm, but almost all of them have either a command issue or an issue developing a 3rd pitch. I'm not sure we have a guy with the upside of Degrom, but I think we have a few guys who have the upside of an Aaron Nola or a Trevor Bauer.

DeGrom was a late bloomer and wasnt highly thought of. You're probably right but it's too early to tell.
