We were the younger team by a lot against the Dodgers last year I think. lol.

It really does magnify some of the tough roster choices. Is having Hamilton on the roster a better move than having an extra pitcher or hitter. There is no way of knowing how the games are going to unfold. AA and company have to crunch the numbers and play the odds.
One thing to note. Jack Flaherty has recently surpassed his career high for innings pitched in a season. He may either have 1 or 2 starts left this season. He's currently lined up to pitch the final day of the season. Would be nice if the Cards need to win that game and have to start him. Would force them to not use him in game 1 of NLDS and possibly only allow them to use him once in the series.

Would have been in 2012 also, had Chipper not skewed the roster age.

    He's looking for a job!

Some team that would like to be maxed out as a non-contender in its division with a completely depleted minors league system in five years should really pick up the phone and gauge his interest level.

Cubs will miss the playoffs. Hope that flag is nice to look at because they have shut that window.

Honestly think they won't care for a few more years. 2016 was only 3 years ago. A lot shorter than waiting that 100+ years.

It was a 2-1 game and they used 9 pitchers?? That with their starter going 4 2/3 innings

Glad to see Kyle Lewis playing very well with the Mariners. Still wish we would have drafted him.

Guess we really dodged a bullet but our approach on Kimbrel. Don't mind being wrong about wanting him specifically.

Their SP was substituting for Hamels, he likely wasn't fully stretched out.

But this is unbelievable from Chicago. Two seasons in a row they've underachieved.
Aggression with prospects is fine, but being stupid is not. There should be a way to find a happy medium between a Pirates like idea of being overly cautious with prospects and going stupidly fast with prospects.
