    Just like Harper is better than Trout right?

    Still my favorite non-argument on this board. Absolutely atrociously stupid.

    Era = 3.65
    Fip = 3.69
    K9 = 9.10
    Bb9 = 1.86
    fWAR = 2.2

    We couldn't use that, huh?

    I know, you don’t believe any stats that don’t support your narrative. MadBum as a HOF is questionable and someone who is in their prime should be playing the best baseball of his career. MadBum is a clear step down from where he was 3 years ago and before. I love you thethe but come on man.

    This whole bum debate is so funny. It is like there is this extreme that makes people think he can either be great or awful. Bum is a good pitcher. Similar to DK he would be our best 3-4 pitcher and very valuable to our chances. I seriously don’t anyone thinks he is an ace anymore. But he is most definitely someone we should be interested in if available. Even a slight overpay is worth getting him. This thing where everyone is trying to make him worse than he is is really comical. He is a good pitcher and better than the shot we have been shoveling in our 4/5 for quite some time.

    I think several posters value Bumgarner very accurately...

    Worse than:

    Soroka
    DK
    "Fixed" Folty
    "Healthy" Gausman
    "Rested" Fried

    Better than:

    "Broken" Folty
    "Injured" Gausman
    "Blistered" Fried
    Teheran
    Everyone else

    I've said several times he makes sense at the right value, but that I'd prefer Folty and/or Gaus get back to what we expected from them.

    If it's determined those 2 SPs can't be relied upon, and Bumgarner can be acquired for the FV 40/45 prospect non-elite rental SPs typically get sold for, then get him.

    This is my thought too. But it Sometimes seems like some are afraid to like bum because that would make thethe right or something

    Direct quote from him about MadBum right now: “HOF pitcher in his prime”

    On this page

    Maybe it’s weird that I consider only ace pitchers should belong in the HOF

    And I clearly said he would be an upgrade and said I am higher on him than I used to be. But he’s not near the pitcher thethe is fantasizing about

    come ahn. that is far from it. talking about him like he's an ace is silly. i think every single poster who "doesn't like him" likes him just fine. we just don't think he's a massive upgrade.

    He isn’t Stroman. But he would be an upgrade. And probably a large one based on what I am watching.

    No one said he isn't a good pitcher or that we couldn't use him. You're acting like he's an ace though, which he isn't.

    Please reply with one of my quotes where I was "acting like he's an ace". Thanks

    This is a factual statement.

    Parse out what you think it means in terms of did i mean he is an ace all you want.

    Bumgarner is going into the hall and he is currently in his prime years.

    Id sign him for 5 years easy this offseason. It seems pitchers are ageing well lately. I think once the player is 30 or over the pitvher is a safer investment than a hitter long term.
