Probably. Indians will take the division.

Carlos Santana is a beast again.

Indians are going to be a tough out in the postseason.

Santana at 3.4 fWAR. Segura at 2.1

The Nationals closer Doolittle's cheap team option becomes a mutual option if he finishes 17 more games. Not saves, just games finished. So even if he blows a save or loses a game it counts as a game finished. This could be interesting down the stretch.

getting rid of Santana still made sense considering they had no where to play him. of course the huge mistake was signing him in the first place, as he was never a fit. and the cost of getting rid of him now looks huge, with him putting up a 3.7 fWAR and JP Crawford putting up 1.3 in 63 games.

It appears we're going to luck out this series and miss both DeGrom and Syndegaard.

As it's currently lined up, we'd face DeGrom but not Syndegaard when we face them next week.

Just to give you guys an example of how poorly run of an organization the Mets are. If they were really going for it all season, as they claimed, someone certainly didn't tell their marketing department.

About a month and a half ago they were constantly running big sales on tickets to dump as many as they could, one of which was 84% and another close to 75%. I scooped up tickets for when the Braves come to town for both of the remaining series for close to $3 a ticket. Needless to say those tickets are alot more and expensive now, something I'm sure hurts profits in the long run.

Santana is a good player, but he didn't fit with the Phils (unless having lousy defense at multiple positions was part of their strategy). I frankly don't know if Klentak has a clue on how to construct a baseball team. It's like he's playing Strat-o-Matic.

Everyone is blue up in Twinsville. The were 11.5 games ahead of Cleveland on June 2 and were still 8 games ahead at the end of June. Lots of carping about not going after either Keuchel or Kimbrell in the baseball press. Given schedules, it's not out of the question that the Twins won't win the division, but they played way over their heads early in the season and their weaknesses are beginning to show up.

Sounds a lot like the Braves and the Metropolitans.

I think 91 wins takes the division. That means we need to go 21-21 to finish out the year. Currently we are 16-13 since the break, and that's without Neck and Swanson for much of this time. We've also blew several late inning leads due to some bad luck. The Nats/Mets would have to play out of their minds to finish the season, as well as us having to play .500 ball or worse. Given each teams' schedules, I don't find that particularly likely to happen. I think we finish with 95 wins.

There are a lot of parallels between the Twins and Braves. Both have had one outstanding month this season. May for the Twins and June for the Braves. Beyond that they have mainly held serve.

The difference is that the Twins have had one divisional rival that has played really well to close the gap. And the Indians didn't dig too big a hole for themselves (like the Metropolitans have). If it was the gnats that got hot instead of the Metropolitans we'd be in the same situation the Twins are in.

Indians are 27-9 in July and August. gnats are are 21-14. If the gnats had the Indians' record in that stretch they would tied with us.

We were scheduled to face Kershaw in the upcoming series. Now we will not, and face rookie May instead.

Clayton Kershaw will be moved back a day to start Wednesday against the Marlins.

Kershaw was originally scheduled to start Tuesday, but he'll get some extra rest while Dustin May will up a day in the rotation. The changes means that Kershaw will not get a two-start week.
